Multi-IO Expander
#91
(08-07-2025, 02:20 PM)Carlier Wrote: Hello,
Hello Thomas!
I have a Nerdseq and I'd like to get a multi-IO expander to convert MIDI to CV.
The goal?
I'm going to buy a Neuzeit "drop" (a snapshoot control center / midi oriented) that I'd like to connect via MIDI to Nerdseq and use Nerdseq to transfer MIDI information to ALL of the Nerdseq's CV ports (6x2CV + 6x1Trig)? Is this possible?
And if so, can I add the More CV and More Trigger expanders to route even more signals from MIDI?
Is it designed for that, or is it better to get a dedicated MIDI to CV converter?
Thanks for all!

Yes it can do that with the NerdSEQ midi interfaces.
You can route dedicated midinotes to triggers or any other notes or CC to CV.
And indeed more outputs with the expanders.

Yes program change can be a source, too.
The art is to define what all the data should do.
Changing CV or triggers are only 2 of the many options

Hi Thomas,

Is the ART-Add-On for the Multi-IO Expander still in the pipeline? I am curious to try it out with my Buchla Tiptop Audio modules which have ART inputs.

Cheers,

john

I just **finally** soldered my rev7 ER-301 to receive i2c from the Nerdseq and hooked everything up. After a lot of troubleshooting I managed to get it working and it's great. I did upgrade to the beta 3.x firmware of Nerdseq because I was pretty upset that there were no tables on the i2c channels on the stable version. So far I've had no trouble. Any ETA for the firmware to be declared stable, are there lots of bugs that I didn't encounter yet?

I got to test one thing still and then it'll be the release. Any issues are posted in the Release Candidate thread.
