Apologies if obvious to others, but is it possible to record fader movements over I2C to the assigned track?

For example, fader 1 of F8R mapped to probability of track 1. If moving fader during record, can the movement be recorded somehow when there is a change?

No that is not included but I will think about it. My first idea is though that it might be not possible to implement due to performance issues. (Doing multiple extra checks for record…). But I will look into it.

Thanks so much Thomas, greatly appreciated!!
I’ll take a look and add this to the feature requests page if it’s not already there.

Also, when powering on/turning off cases connected via 3.5mm I2C, does it matter if case containing leader/follower device is turned on/off first?

Was thinking if disconnect while power on is an issue, does the sequence of powering devices matter also?

Yes please add it so it is not buried somewhere.

If both are connected then they share already common ground and it is no issue.

Hi Nerds,

I'm trying to connect my distingEx and I seem to have stupid problems. Maybe someone who successfully did it is able to help me. Here's is what I did:

MIDI/I2C Setup
I2C A Mode: NS -> 16N 1-6 Address: Hex 31

Track Assign: I2C/MULTI

Track Setup
Destination 1-6: A-EX.V A:31 P:1-6
or alternatively
Destination 1-6: A-EX.VP A:31 P:1-6

I created a pattern and in the 6 lanes I've placed a couple of notes.

I hit START on the NerdSEQ and nothing audible seems to happen.

The distingEx (V1.23.1) is configured with I2C Address hex 31, RX channel 1, TX channel 1
I selected the Poly Wavetable (single) algorithm. In this algorithm parameter 66 (Input Mode) is configured to 0. No output and no I2C data on the display. When I change parameter 66 to anything else and provide a gate signal I can hear a drone which seems to imply that sound generation should basically work. FWIW all other parameter if the Poly Wavetable algorithm are on their respective default settings.

When I switch everything to I2C channel B I get the same result (Track setup is then changed to B-EX.V/B-EX.VP of course).

What am I doing wrongly?

Kind regards,
Michael

I2C A Mode should be 'Out'.  The address doesn't directly matter here as it is defined in the I2C Track for the columns/matrix.
NS -> 16N Mode means that a 16N is continuosly polled for fader changes.

For the rest, check in the I2C screen of the disting if the data is being received and if it is really set up to address 31hex.

I can unwrap my distings here and set it up and check for the correct settings.

Setting the Mode to 'Out' does change something. I still don't hear the chords and I still need to feed an external gate but it definitely is more than nothing Smile

Must say the combination of the knob and the global scales transforms the Nerdseq - it is SO Fast to sequence now. Thank you Thomas - perfect Xmas gift to myself.

Agreed, and the knob and the euclidean sequences with the trigger expansion is of utmost awesomeness also!

Happy holidays everyone!

Hi, Could you tell me when is the final manual including the contents of Firmware V2.0 likely to be released?

I'm about to start learning Nerdseq, but I'm mainly most interested in controlling the ER-301 with an i2c connection.

The expander for that purpose arrived safely, so I'm waiting for the final manual to be released. I would like to print it out, compile into a booklet and read it carefully Smile
