Hi,
So I finally got around to getting my modular set back up and decided I should dive in to the nerdseq. I have the trs a midi expander and wanted to see what was what with the Roland aria tb-3. I can’t seem to make heads or tails of how to make a slide happen. The Roland manual has the slide function set to cc 102. So far I’ve had no luck using this cc. I remember looking into this a long while back and finally got it to work by using two midi lanes and having a note overlap. I did that with the polyend tracker somehow but unfortunately can’t access that anymore because it died. So here I am trying to figure out slide on this. Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated. Also would appreciate any nerdseq tutorials that focus just on mid would be great. It’s been almost two years since I’ve done anything with music and I feel like I’ve forgotten more than I retained over the years.
Thank you!

I assume the CC for the slide function just changes the intensity. I can't really figure that out from their manual, so it is something to test. But leave it as it is first.
And for the slide itself I assume it works with overlapping notes (But also here the TB-3 must be in the correct mode for it. I saw something about Omni mode etc... also leave it for now)
Overlapping notes indeed needs 2 columns. While one note plays and before it's note off another note is being played and that should initiate the slide option, sliding from one to the other note. It wouldn't work from one lane as here a note off is always automatically inserted on note changes (and for a good reason as you would get a mess of hanging notes else).
Try like below which should slide from C-4 to E-4.
PLEASE use the search function if something have been asked or discussed before.

Unfortunately no luck with that. Hopefully someone on here has the tb-3 and can chime in. I’ve read their “manual” and found nothing helpful.

I just got a roland TB-03 as well now. No luck making it slide with the above pattern either. Oddly enough I actually got my polyend tracker to turn on and got the slide to work with the tb3 and tb-03 by simply overlapping the notes and not using midi cc at all. I’m still stumped how to get this to work with the nerdseq. Anyone out here got any information at all? I just want to make some acid with my nerdseq! Just a little bit of acid. HaLp

I don’t think you need the CC. It is probably only a setup thing.
Slide should work by overlapping notes which this does.
How is the tracker overlapping the notes (show us a picture).
Also maybe you need to olay with the accent.
In the pattern above it is overlapping with accent.

I just got the confirmation that it does work with the TB3 so I am pretty sure it is a setting on the Tb3/TB-3 (with the TB3 actually it is set up for slide, else it would be legato, both works well with and without accent).
The NerdSEQ can provide with or without overlap.

The NerdSEQ can provide with or without overlap. So how did whoever do this? I need a picture or video or both apparently. When you say it both works with or without overlap, how? What needs to be “setup” I’ve read both the manuals for the tb3 and 03 and must have overlooked something then because I don’t see anything related to setting up “slide”.
As far as the polyend tracker. It’s basically the exact same thing pictured above as the nerdseq. I just used two different lanes for midi and made the note overlap and the slide happens. But on the nerdseq it does not.
When I get home this weekend I’ll give it all another try. I’m just really surprised it isn’t doing it with the ns. I’ve got absolutely nothing different going on settings wise that I’m aware of but I’m willing to bet I’ve totally missed something simple and it’s 100% user error.
I still want to see someone using the ns do it though and see the settings on both ns and tb3 and/or tv-03 as that would make this so much easier.
Also, thank you for the responses!!

I got videos of it and will list them later today. As for the NerdSEQ side I can confirm that there is no setup involved except for assign a track to midi and fill in the notes.
Maybe you also share your project so I can see if it is a different configuration or so.
