Trying to jump to another pattern
#1
Photo
I don't understand what I'm doing wrong here.

1st image: at the end of the pink block: pattern 20/track 1/row 21, I want to jump to pattern 1B/track 1/row 23 and play out the green block of patterns. What happens instead is that at the end of pattern 20, it jumps to pattern 27, which plays out then goes to the top of the green block.

2nd image: the command i'm trying to use so it jumps to row 23 at the end of pattern 20 (start seq pattern: track 1, row 23). Hope my question is clear! Thanks in advance.

Hmm that should work normally and looks OK.
I’m going to check this out.

OK, I get what is going on and I got to say it is correct what happens.
You got your sync settings set to SYNC which means it will do the start of the new selected pattern only on a zero cross of the mainclock.
Your STSP is happening at a point where when the pattern is finished it is not at a zero point, so it keeps playing (in your case pattern 27...I had to think about that but that is just 1B hex / row 1D) until the zero cross and does the new pattern start then.
That is correct behaviour for the sync mode.

What you could do is either set your pattern sync mode to 'normal'. Or leave it to SYNC, put the STSP 123 twice in the same FX (does the same as pressing start twice so it toggles to launch at the next cuepoint) row as it will then use the next cuepoint. I assume for that that your patterns are all using 16 (or multiple of that) steps.

I’m going to check this out.

Interestingly, I copied the patterns into track 2. On playback, track 2 didn't go as expected (as described in the first post) but the patterns in track 1 did.

If you copied the patterns then you still start the ones from track 1, right? That means then you toggled the ‘Start Pattern’ for track 1 which sets it to ‘start pattern on next cuepoint’
