  MOD column note default (Setting)
Posted by: skybox - 09-02-2019, 12:05 AM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (2)

I would love a way, for example, in Nerd option for each track, to set the MOD column as Note first when inserting a value so I don't have to scroll or shift+ok for every single Note input.

Case example: Erica Synths Sample Drum has 2 Sampler tracks, each with trigger and CV inputs, and Note is very useful for the slice selector (each slice is assigned to Note starting at C0).  I could use, for example NerdSEQ Track 6 for both Samplers by using Note and TR column for Sampler 1, and MOD (Note) + More Trigger 1-16 (or unused Trigger 1-6) in FX column for Sampler 2.  Then I would not have to dedicate two precious NerdSEQ tracks to one module.

Thanks!

  Midi Merge question
Posted by: Barney Rubble - 08-30-2019, 03:44 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (3)

Has anyone tried using midi merge with the Nerdseq mid expander?  I just want to know if Midi Merge works with the Nerdseq or even if this is a bad idea.

Cheers

  Tables - Copy/Paste

Hi,

Can you consider making copy/paste available within Tables. Really just to speed up editing?

*DONE* Solo/mute outputs in more trigger tracks
Posted by: Hotscience - 08-29-2019, 10:31 AM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (20)

It would be great to be able to solo/mute each individual trigger channel when using a more triggers expander track. Possible?

  problems with midi clock
Posted by: depaffect - 08-27-2019, 10:39 AM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (4)

I have somewhat of a mystery on my hands.

I am using Ableton Live as my DAW, which sends MIDI clock to the Nerdseq MIDI expander to sync things up.

Now of course there is a bit of latency, so Ableton lets you give "sync delay" offset to the MIDI clock so you can correct the latency

Bringing it back 29 ms seems to do the trick.

HOWEVER :

I also have a Pam's New Workout which is being clocked by the Nerdseq using DIN-SYNC24

When I adjust Ableton's MIDI Clock Sync Delay, suddenly Pam's New Workout is out of sync with Nerdseq!

The below pic shows 2 channels, top channel is being triggered by Nerdseq, the bottom by Pamela's.

This is with Ableton's MIDI Clock Sync Delay set to 0ms (as you can see, they're pretty much in sync with each other, but of course not with Ableton)

This is with Ableton's MIDI Clock Sync Delay set to -29ms (as you can see the top Nerdseq channel takes a beat to properly sync with Ableton's grid, but the Pamela channel gets all messed up)

So something strange is happening to the Nerdseq's clock out when it gets a MIDI clock with a delay offset, but I can't understand why!

Any help? Smile

  LaunchPad + Nerdseq
Posted by: Barney Rubble - 08-25-2019, 05:37 PM - Forum: General Questions - No Replies

Nerdseq + LaunchPad for live playing is such a great idea. Clearly it's very early days and needs input from the community to make it a killer combination.

To kick things off I'm going to put some things down that I have noted and hopefully others will chime in [Image: cool.png]

I have the Launchpad Pro - but no Nerdseq trigger expander so my comments should be viewed in that context.

- In track view the scrolling blinking light that runs continuously across all 64 pads imho not needed when sequencer is running - If a track is started it would be nice if just current pattern(s) blink.

-Blinking could relate to note/trigger so we can see which patterns are playing fast slow if when we are using multipliers

- I can start and stop sample track/patterns but if I enter into sample pattern - no pattern is visible and LP can't exit pattern view - have to go back to Nerdseq and use sequencer button for that

- G Function Jump - does not seem to work at the moment - tried it between islands and with single island

- Would love to have Semitone and octave buttons per track

- Would love access to switch on/off Automators

- Is it possible to have LP controller and have midi tracks output to a synth in Nerdseq - I'm guessing I would need midi merge device If I want both?

Cheers

Have Load menu remember last file loaded
Posted by: banjodan - 08-25-2019, 12:41 AM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (1)

It would be nice if the Load menu opened with the most recent file loaded selected, so that one down cursor gets you to the next file. If that's not something that works for most people, then having it as a preference somewhere would be cool.

External clock reset -> progress indicator
Posted by: hquad - 08-21-2019, 04:59 PM - Forum: Beauty and less important bugs/glitches - No Replies

I noticed a minor glitch. Seems when the external clock is stopped and a reset pulse comes in, the sequencer resets, but the progress bar on the screen isn't cleared. FW 1.19. Doesn't stop me from anything but I found it worth noting anyway.

My setup: One channel of Pamela's New Workout at 24 ppqn to external Clock In. Another PNW channel set to send a reset pulse (Low to High) when stopped. Connected to external Reset In. Start sequencer, start PNW; eventually, stop PNW in the middle of the 64 steps and restart. Watch the progress bars on NerdSeq.
