Set current data value with CV input
Posted by: bovaflux - 05-01-2019, 08:54 PM - Forum: Feature requests - No Replies

Another request! I'm finding entering notes is actually pretty quick, much better than I thought from videos I saw before buying it. However, entering data values can feel a little tedious, and with a bunch of voltage sources (lightstrip, quadtratt) sat right next to Nerdseq, I'd love to be more knobby with entering data values for fx, automation, and even notes.

What I could imagine is having some project settings with let you define a CV source for data values to be read (i.e. Input 1-4) and a trigger source to determine when to sample the CV source (which would be either a gate/trigger at Input 1-4, or pressing the OK button). This would mean when entering a sequence of fx values in a sequence I could dial in the amount I want on a knob, tap OK, move down a step, dial in the next amount, hit ok, etc. I could even hold down my gate signal or keep OK held to constantly update the data value from the voltage source/knob. That way I could keep OK held while stepping through a pattern to record a knob sweep.

Auto load most recent project (or a template) on start up
Posted by: bovaflux - 05-01-2019, 08:32 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (5)

First up, just want to say what an excellent module this is. Only had it a couple of weeks and still have lots to discover, but it's already a favourite. As great as it is though, I do have some little suggestions.... I've been going through what's already posted to try and avoid duplicating anything that's already been mentioned, apologies if I miss anything though!

Ok, so first thing that I wish for every time I turn my system on is an option to either autoload the last saved song, or to load a default "template" song on start up. I have Nerdseq at the heart of a 7U live/improvising case, and it would really smooth out my workflow to have it boot into a track specially set up ready to go. I know it would only save me 5 button taps every time I start up, but it would be a nice addition and something I'm used to taking advantage of in Renoise.

Hey,

we are at Superbooth 2019. Booth O507 as usual.
And beside things you might know, there will be things you might not know about yet.

Up there looks like some Launchpad integration for the NerdSEQ. And it is.
What else:
- Trigger16 Expander
- CV16 Expander
- 6CV2Trig expander
- Dualchord expander
- NerdSEQ on a big screen
- NerdSEQ MEGA
- Having beers with me
- Uncontrolled performances at the end of the days

  Changing faceplate?
Posted by: shankzz - 04-30-2019, 03:41 AM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (4)

I was wondering if it is possible/easy to change the faceplate of NerdSeq. I currently have the dark faceplate for both NerdSeq and midi expander. I have recently moved to an all-grayscale Intellijel case based setup. It would be wicked cool to have NerdSeq also blend in Smile.

  Project Transpose functions
Posted by: skybox - 04-29-2019, 07:56 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (4)

I have two requests that both involve the use of the Transpose in the Project window:

1. I would like the project transpose to not take effect until I release the shift key.  Or a way to select the behavior between that and how it transposes currently.  Very useful when transposing a song into a new key in a performance setting without having to chromatically step up/down.

2. Would like a way to assign a track to ignore the master/project transpose function. Could be used to keep samples typically assigned to drums from pitching up/down, especially in extreme cases where I go up or down an octave during a live performance. Also very useful for instances where I have two songs running in one project file and could quickly/easily transpose one into the other's key without affecting them both. Could be under Nerd>Track Setup?

Thanks Big Grin

*NO BUG* midi cc values not contiuous
Posted by: holo - 04-29-2019, 07:46 PM - Forum: Beauty and less important bugs/glitches - Replies (2)

hi,
when i step through from 0 to 7F on one of the #cc fx the decimal readout on my syth isnt stepping continuously. but i did push the button 127 times to reach the other end, i swear ;-)

and the saw and tri lfo to cc behaves a bit strange at the peaks but that might be something else.

and big thanks for midi! its like i just got a new sequencer Smile

A crazy suggestion — ticks number display
Posted by: joe_biomassa - 04-28-2019, 08:36 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (2)

Hi. I have no idea if that would be useful for everybody but:
can Nerdseq display two more numbers in the pattern edit screen —
1. actual number of ticks of all steps before the BREAK command
SLASH
2. number of ticks of all steps before the BREAK command AS IF they all had 6 tick per step? just a multiple of 6 x number of steps before the BREAK?

i don't know about you but it would help me tremendously to use shuffle / odd rhythmic experiments

This suggestion was born out of a dialog with another Nerdseq owner and I also had an aha moment when she mentioned tick calculations.

Thanks!

Lightbulb Dumb question...
Posted by: Fsuchs - 04-28-2019, 07:55 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (6)

Feeling a bit like an idiot, but i was not able to find the answer in the new manual....

How the heck could i access midi tracks patterns? Well found the track assign menu... and assigned some midi tracks in the song screen... but i just can't create a new patter (the field remain blank [--])...
Also tried to scroll to right as mentionned in the manual when talking about various midi page.. no luck..
I assume that there is a button combination or other esotheric move.

Any help highly recommended !

Assign CV inputs to patch parameters
Posted by: depaffect - 04-28-2019, 11:04 AM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (3)

Is there any plan to have CV control (via Input 1,2,3 or 4) over patch parameters?

So you could, for example, do things like assign CV1 to the "Trigger Prob%" on a track? Or select a table with CV?

To expand on this - it would also be amazing if you could use the CV input as a value for various FX - so , imagine in the pattern editor, something like GLC CV1 (so the GLC value would be taken from voltage present in CV1)

  Stereo outputs?
Posted by: apeirophobe - 04-28-2019, 07:57 AM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (2)

First off, I just want to say that I am completely smitten by this module.  It arrived just 48 hours ago and within minutes I was knocking out patterns.
Anyway, I was just playing with the sample tracks and one thing I missed was the possibility to add pan as an fx type.  It would be great if the 2 outputs could be linked as stereo and then use an FX to pan the sample.  Sorry if this has been requested before. I couldn’t find it in the search results.
