Unless the implementation has changed you can no longer adjust the width of a pulse wave using the offset function in the FX column (v1.27A). Changing numbers has no effect until you reach 0FFF, you are then unable to change it back and the waveform is unusable in that track until reboot.
When a MT16 and CV16 are assigned to the Sample 7 and 8 tracks, is it still possible to simply just play wave files (in a loop) from the two Sample 7 and 8 outputs (no notes, sequencing, FX or whatsoever)?
I actually would like to use them as noise sources by loading/selecting white/pink/blue/red wave files and play them in a loop (or maybe generate more 'colours' like the noise waveform).
The wave loading is only accessible from the tracks which are assigned to the Sample outs, right?
Probably the least important (beauty) bug ever...
When you use the euclidean function, the info text on the bottom is missing the last character (number) when you go from '9/32' to '10/32'.
I'm using the MIDI output to trigger drum samples. It works fairly well, but the legato-style note output is less than ideal for drums, especially since it causes the note-off messages to stack up with the note-on messages, which can affect the timing. It would also be better for me for the note events to be more like uniform trigger pulses to make the envelope triggering on connected sound modules more consistent.
I know that it's possible to manually insert note-offs, but that slows down editing considerably and uses up rows.
What I would prefer is a track-level option to specify the length of the notes -- either in ticks or in milliseconds. Is there any chance that this option could be added?
As I promised before I can annouce the release of the new Firmware V1.27 for the NerdSEQ.
Mostly planned as a maintenance only release I managed to add some nice little features (of course).
Here are the current changes:
added CV, MOD, Gate, Probability information in modular pattern screen
added hide Backup folder setting in setup screen
fixed Sysex messages reception (could cause locking notes)
fixed Sample prelisten (possible hang or non playing samples)
added: Mark a part in the pattern screen and loop it (press start, start again stops the loop).
fixed Current values display (correct values)
fixed Screensaver hanging on save screen (and maybe others?)
fixed Automator screen glitch on shift+delete
added Midi->Trigger input also 16 notes for triggers and gates
added CV16 Track, Automator local Gate output
added Trigger16 Track: Added Gates and Triggers for all 16 Triggers in automator
removed ‘Load Settings Backup’ in Setup (obsolete)
added Clone Pattern with DOWN button clones pattern into the field below.
fixed Rownumbers are also greyed out with the patternlength
added Automator values get updated on change
added LFO Clock type: One full LFO wave last for n amount of steps
added LFO Clock type: One full LFO wave last n times per step
added Bulk Pattern export and import (with sequencer data) for external editing
fixed Possible Midi sync issue on rare screen change occasions
Progress bar style updated
updated Trigger delay also for Auto-Gate
fixed random fill in for CV16 MOD values
Update V1.27A
current values for 7+8 if used with midi or expanders fixed
fixed some max-min values
Update V1.27C
fixed broken pulse waveform offset function
fixed pattern length colour for expander 2nd and 3rd pages
removed glide and audio functions from sequencer stop FX reset
As usual my little 'disclaimer' with some important information before you update:
- make a backup of your SD Card and especially of your projects
- Old Projects can simply be loaded with the new version
- Firmware updates always work, if it doesn't, then you did something wrong. Check the Firmware update FAQ for some infos.
- No worries, in case of any issues you can always go back to your earlier version!
- I totally can understand if you are disappointed if your long awaited feature request is not included in this update. I really do my best to get much new stuff in the releases and i keep track on all the hundrets of feature requests. I constantly update my 2do list and change priorities depending on many factors. Please read the FAQ in the forum to find out how I work and how I don't work. In the end, I can never please anybody. But I do my best to make it better each time.
I just got my video expander. Tried 3 keyboards (2 wired from the same brand, 1 2.4 Ghz wireless from another brand) and none of them work Also tried putting a powered USB hub between them, but same.
Can anyone suggest some confirmed working keyboards, preferably mechanical?
I'm on Nerdseq v1.26 and I'm using an external keyboard with the video expander.
When I'm in a CV16 track pressing the Patch button on the nerdseq takes me to different place,s depending in which column I am:
* CV -> right side of the screen for Glide/Env/LFO settings
* FX -> Current values -> Track setup
* Patch -> Patch screen
On the external keyboard F3 should do the same thing I guess, since it should work just like the Patch button, but it always opens the Patch screen, no matter on which column I am.
I haven't found a way to get to the right side of the screen with the Env/LFO settings when I'm in a CV column.
Is anyone else able to export / import a pattern? I'm following the instructions in pages 107/108 on the v1.6 user manual.
The export appears successful, as a file is created on the SD card. The data differs for different patterns, both in modular and trigger16. When I make a new blank pattern and import that file, however, nothing shows up in the new pattern.
is it possible to have an Automator LFO on a CV16 output?
I'd like to have a tempo synced LFO on a CV16 output and it seems the CV16 LFOs can not be tempo synced...
