But from what I understand in the manual there's meant to be: Empty, Random, Doubles, Triplets, Triads, etc. On mine (at present) there's only the two choices. So where are the other choices?

What Thomas said is:
Move the cursor down until the red bar is on the line "Preset > Empty" and then hit SHIFT+RIGHT (or SHIFT+LEFT)

Maybe a suggestion that there are few more photos/screenshots in the manual to demonstrate what we should be seeing.
They are more nerd menu selections with multiple choices, so I assume that this should be obvious, too. Also I can't fill the manual with screenshots about all possible functions, there is just too much and It would take too much time working on the manual.
In the end things are mostly the same in menus and editing, so that is the first thing you should try.

No problem for the screenshots idea (in the manual), it was just a thought. I already see that the manual is very full so I guess if people use the search function in the forum they'll end up on threads where there are screenshots.
Anyhow, thanks again, I'm enjoying the NS as the concepts become clearer, little-by-little.
