  Can anyone explain lfos
Posted by: ipassenger - 06-22-2020, 09:40 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (10)

So I get what an lfo is but they confuse they hell out of me in this. I’ve read the section in the manual but I just don’t really get em.

Tried using an lfo to send a voltage out of a mod out and had to really experiment to get a +5/-5 swing from the mod out, the lfo needed offsets and getting specific speeds seemed really tricky.

Has anyone totally sussed them and be willing to explain them, how to get most out of different speeds and clock settings, how the noise settings work, etc, how to make a square wave?

  Midi Note Retrig Question
Posted by: rhgk - 06-22-2020, 03:53 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (3)

Hey guys,

I generally play into the nerdseq via a midi keyboard. My question is if there is a way to retrig the gate for a track I'm playing into in the event of overlapping notes. Currently, overlapping notes have a glide effect, but I would want the gate to trigger on every new note on.

Thanks!

  midi note record question
Posted by: ipassenger - 06-21-2020, 08:56 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (3)

v1.21

When I record midi to a midi track from my keyboard (or from a midi clip in ableton live, it seems to only record to midi note lanes 2-4 on track 1, any idea what I am doing wrong?

Cheers

Forget that, i rebooted it and it is behaving properly now.

Is it possible to set local off when recording on the nerdseq in midi, so it doesn't echo the midi input back out the output?

  *NO BUG* Probability remains active
Posted by: Cinematic - 06-17-2020, 11:28 AM - Forum: Beauty and less important bugs/glitches - Replies (1)

Hi,

Not sure if it's a bug or by design, but if you set a probability on a note event, the probability works on all notes in the loop and not on just the note selected. I was expecting the selected note to play (or not) based on the probability. So this would mean setting probability on every note. However, when you remove the probability from the FX, the probability setting remains active, even after stopping the sequence and restarting it. It's all fine if you know this, but this kept me busy for a while, wondering why notes didn't play.

  Note volume with step sequencer

Is there a way to change the volume or velocity for each note individually in a step track?

Can the Nerdseq record note glides from the analog inputs?
Posted by: funqpatrol - 06-16-2020, 01:45 AM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (1)

Quick question:

Can I record a sequence say from the Voltage Block or Metropolis and retain the glide as well as the note from the analog inputs?

max distance between nerdseq and expanders

hi
just a challenge for you all
I tried to put a triger 16 far away than 2.5m from it's parent nerdseq and it works perfect
who can get further?
a message to creators : why not create a 2hp expansion module to allow safe hdmi (or anything else) distanciation (covid rules :p )

I need to run a midi thru box from the nerdseq - theres a box which draws power from the midi out port. would this be ok to use with the midi expander of the nerdseq?

CV / Gate Recording with Stillson Hammer
Posted by: zerius - 06-09-2020, 01:28 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (6)

I have been recording few sequences from my Stillson Hammer to the Nerdseq recently and I have been struggling getting the exact same results when recording notes into Nerdseq.

I cue the sequence I like on my Stillson hammer and pass the cv/gate/mod to the Nerdseq inputs. Then I set up the recording channel which will be related to a voice in my rack. I have set up the recorder to CV/Note Gate with 0 trig delay. After recording, the sequence is sometimes right sometimes the pitch isn't right at all. I tried to change the CV/Note Gate to Trig since I'm mainly using Noise Engineering oscillators and they all have their own trig input, but when I record, the Nerdseq will put a trig at each step of the grid.

Is anyone experienced any difficulties to record cv/gate with this particular module (SHmk2) or any other type of sequencers.

I know the recording process can be a little bit tricky and I'm not 100% sure if I'm doing it the best way since it seems there are few different option on the Nerdseq to record.

I'm mainly looking for recording advice from the community, and in the meantime I'm still happy with my actual recording process because it also give me lots of happy accidents, however it is sometimes frustrating to have a great sequence that I like and won't being able to fully record in to the nerdseq  Blush

  Patch screen live output
Posted by: theotteryears - 06-05-2020, 09:26 AM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (2)

any chance we could get live output from the Patch screen as this would really help make live changes to modules.

I use a track of nerdseq just for patches (macro control) of a few modules at once. Hearing the value changes in realtime would be really helpful.
