IO Expander as simple midi to cv converter?

One question which answer I couldn´t definitely find in the manual, but I estimate is possible, is to use the nerdseq + IO Expander as a simple midi to CV interface if needed.? Is this correct? May I also combine this lets say track 1-4 for midi to cv, track 5-6 for "original nerdseq" sequencing? Thanks for clarifying this!

Apologies if this has already been asked, I cant think of how to search for it. I'm playing with a NDLR, which is really made for hw synths. I have it connected to the midi in on my nerdseq, and I am directing the midi to various nerdseq tracks, and that is working well. One of the ndlr channels, "pad", is polyphonic. What Ive been attempting to do is to get that to play through a nerdseq track that is designated as midi, and route the 3 notes to 3 different oscilators. I set up the first step notes on the nerdseq midi track to point to mod4, mod5, and mod6.. but its not working. Is this possible?

It would be great to assign recorded CV to notes on a midi track. I would like to record the 4 sinfonion chord outputs to a midi track and use that to sequence midi gear. Realtime pass through would be amazing too, then nerdseq could function as a CV to MIDI interface!

Hi
it looks that i reach the maximum pattern in a project.
So i create a new one (save as , delete everything inside, and save)...but i have only 2 pattern and can't create others ...it's still "no pattern available".
What i do wrong ?

Nerdseq Triggers to Doepfer A-142-2

Hi, I have searched and cant find a similar problem on the forum. I'm running the latest FW. I'm sending triggers from the Nerdseq to the gate input of the Doepfer A142-2 Dual Envelope Controlled VCA and the trigger was not triggering the envelope. I thought it was a problem with the VCA so i tried triggers from other modules, which worked. I have not had issues triggering other modules from all 6 channels, so thought the VCA was being finickety. I tried other trigger outs on Nerdseq and found that its was triggering on track 5 and 6 OK. So I went into calibration and metered the trigger outputs and all looked Ok (0v and 5.03v). I set up an identical looping single note (40ms trig) on each track 1 -6 and moved the same patch lead from 1 to 6 in turn and the VCA only triggered in trigger outputs 5 and 6. I reset everything and got the same result, i also tried a range of different trig lengths with the same result.
Any ideas why this might be? Anything else I can try?
Thanks

Overwrite Recording Mode

Hi Thomas. I hope that you've been keeping well.
I'm interested in some additional options for step recording voltages. The intention behind these is to be able to record step voltage input in to NerdSeq more efficiently.
I'd like to be able to record voltages in an "overwrite" mode. In this mode, 0v would not be considered to be the absence of a voltage/note. It would be considered a voltage/value of 0v. The voltage needs to be recorded at every step, regardless of the presence of a trigger or gate. Triggers and gates would be treated in a similar manner in overwrite mode. Thie would mean that the absence of a trigger during a recording would clear an existing trigger from the step.
This will facilitate input from sequencers such as the Analogue Solutions Generator+. It would also facilitate recording in situations where mistakes are easily made, as each take will completely overwrite the previous take.
I'd like to be able to rotate all of the steps in a pattern (or all selected steps) forwards or backwards by one step. This is useful because when you use analogue voltage sequencers (or sequencers like Metropolis or M185) you sometimes create a pattern that doesn't actually begin on beat one. It is also useful to modify arrangements.
As it will not be possible to record step voltages directly into the CV16 tracks, I record into a regular modular pattern and then copy that into a CV16 track pattern. This works for notes, but I can't get it to work if I am copying from a Mod column. If I'm working with unquantised voltages and FM, being able to copy Mod columns into CV16 columns will give me a higher resolution and help me to reproduce the sounds that I have designed in the analogue domain. I can manually put the Mod values in to CV16 column, I just can't copy them in from a modular track.
Cheers,
Marizu
