Current setup.

DIY case made of galvanised steel.
The 2 modules with just jack's are just placeholders. planning to mod the erebus a bit
Also, planning an internal psu instead of the tiptop. and the midi expander is also going to be internal, with midiports on the back (the top as it is oriented in the pic).

Big Grin Sync random patterns
Posted by: DMAK - 05-14-2020, 10:24 PM - Forum: Feature requests - No Replies

Hi,

I love random in my patterns but it has to be a bit constrained to avoid chaos.
I use a lot the SPFX 00C function and I wish I had a kind of master/slave option for patterns playing on different tracks.
The goal would be to have a slave pattern following the steps of a master one.
It would be usefull espacially when you want to run multiple tracks randomly but still doesn't want them to play at the same time.

Another way to do it would be to have a "mute group" function like with the Nord Drum 2.
If one step of a track is active, the step of the other is bypass.

Actually both ways could be complementary Big Grin

Cheers

  Expander control in Midi
Posted by: skybox - 05-14-2020, 09:28 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (2)

I have midi controlled synths going into my rig to be modulated by external effects and in order to trigger expander envelopes it would require me to use a channel that I currently do not have availability for.  Would it be possible that when the expander is connected/detected that we could control them in the FX column? A case use would be to use the envelopes with MIDI on the same track.

  Upcoming i2c expander

Will this be compatible with the new Disting EX? Looks like the perfect partnership for the Polyphonic Sampler mode on the Ex.

  Alternate row change behaviour?
Posted by: theotteryears - 05-13-2020, 06:52 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (7)

Hi,

Wondering if it's possible if you could make an alternate row behaviour where when pressed the whole row will start at the next quantise point regardless of each patterns repeat/loop settings? So it would start each pattern on the row all at the same time?

If I have patterns which finish at different points, eg. 16 lines for some, 32 lines for others, then when I click to start a new row some of the previous patterns in a different island don't change immediately.

Thanks Smile

New user - basic Qs after rtm
Posted by: SoundsLikeJoe - 05-13-2020, 01:59 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (1)

Hi.   New to Nerdseq.  Have been using for a couple weeks, and have completely read the manual through with some spots a few times. Basic operation is fine.  A few quick questions about macro concepts....

Can I save a "default state" that would maintain Project Settings like MIDI assignments on boot and on new project creation?  I would like to save these preferences to avoid reconfiguration when starting every new project.

How can I delete old projects?  I would like to select old projects and delete them.  Not finding this in the manual.

Confirm this understanding?...     When using Mark to Copy data, the process is to create the Mark using SHIFT+MARK and selecting items. Then to PASTE the data, you select a new block and press SHIFT+COPY (to paste).  Correct?  I seem to struggle to copy/paste on occasion, and believe it bc I'm using SHIFT+COPY incorrectly.

  track not playing
Posted by: iiitaiii - 05-13-2020, 03:04 AM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (5)

I have a strange problem. One of my tracks stopped playing. I must have hit a secret shortcut or something... here are the symptoms:

- no patterns are playing (triggering or sending voltage) on the track
- the same patterns play on other tracks
- the track is NOT on mute and looks like the other tracks
- the red dot next to the notes is not showing like in the other tracks while playing
- when loading a different saved project everything is fine

I couldn't find anything else or figure out why this is happening. I even tried setting it as a different kind of track (midi) and returned back to the normal one in hopes it would fix it but no.

Any advice?

Sample tracks break BRK loop after 64 steps
Posted by: hirnlego - 05-10-2020, 04:18 PM - Forum: Beauty and less important bugs/glitches - Replies (2)

It seems to me that patterns on tracks 7 and 8 won't loop forever when an instruction like BRK 0100 is used. Intead, they loop only until the pattern ends and then the next one is played. Is this an expected behaviour?

  Groove ticks balance
Posted by: hirnlego - 05-10-2020, 11:33 AM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (3)

Hi!

It could be useful having a way to know if a pattern's groove is balanced (thus in sync with the sequencer) or if it's missing/exceeding ticks without having to count and sum mentally. What do you think?
