  automator lfo question
Posted by: ello - 02-27-2020, 10:24 AM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (3)

i came along using the automator and a question raised, if the behaviour i found is normal, seems not to me.

when i create a sine wave lfo and route it to mod1 output i thought an offset of 0 would output between -5 ... 5 V. however, the sinewave is clamped between 0 and 5V and the negative part is flattened out. when i put the offset to 2047 it behaves like i think it should behave at 0, creating a sinewave between -5 and 5 V (on the screen the automator preview is going between middle and max, it seems that the preview and the output are off by 5V). i have set my output offset switch to left.

what may i misunderstand or do the wrong way? attached some image to describe the thing. left side offset 0, right side offset 2047. from my understanding it should behave at an offset of 0 like it is now at an offset of 2047

Setting a pattern number to always use the same colour
Posted by: theotteryears - 02-26-2020, 10:21 AM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (2)

It would be useful to always have a pattern number be the colour its set to.

eg. I set Pattern 1 to be Green.

Anytime I add pattern 1 in the sequencer screen, it is green by default.

Hopefully this is easy to implement as it would really help keep track of patterns quickly by seeing the colour.

Thanks Smile

  Midi Channel Assign FX
Posted by: skybox - 02-25-2020, 09:30 PM - Forum: Feature requests - No Replies

Would love a way to change a track's midi channel assignment on the fly.  Could use a single Track to sequence different synths in different patterns, or if I had two drum machines, I could potentially mix and match both inside inside one pattern.

  Pattern Trigger Behaviour
Posted by: marek - 02-23-2020, 01:39 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (3)

So I'm experiencing something and I'm not sure why is that.
I have one note on first step in the pattern with trigger value 40 and second note on 8th step without any trigger. Trigger output is going in to Zadar input.
When I hit play, the Zadar will recieve trigger from the first step and envelope starts progressing. But as soon as 8th note is played the Zadar resets. And there is no trigger value on the 8th note. When I remove the 8th note the Zadar will finish the whole envelope to the end.
Can someone please explain me why is this happening?  Huh

  Repeat sample pattern via BRK
Posted by: induktor - 02-23-2020, 03:34 AM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (9)

Hi,

I am experiencing an odd issue when using BRK with sample patterns that are adjacent to each other. For example, I have a pattern that's 4 bars long and BRK is set to 00 01 (repeat twice) and following pattern is 4 bars long and BRK is set to 00 07 (repeat 8 times), the patterns do not respond to those BRK conditions. Instead, they play 4 bars before jumping to the adjacent pattern. I have tried variations of these conditions with the same basic result.

BRK works as expected on non-sample patterns. Strange. I am running firmware v1.20.

  transpose all but sample channels?
Posted by: ello - 02-21-2020, 05:43 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (3)

hello, i think it would be a nice option if there was a transpose all without the sample channels. i just came along the situation where i play some drums on channel 7 and some melodies on channel 1 and 2. and while it is awesome to be able to transpose multiple channels (and the sample channels as well), it would be even cooler if there was an additional option to leave channel 7 and 8 out of the transpose Smile i know, this is not an urgent thing, since sample playing is more or less a nice additional function for the nerdseq, but maybe it isn't even too complicated to add this functionality

  Matrix Input Expander

Are there still plans to release the Matrix Input Expander? I realize that launchpad support may have nullified this but I, and perhaps others would like to see this as an option to keep everything in the rack.

Various tracks orders for modular pattern ( from left to right )
Posted by: Benoist - 02-20-2020, 09:15 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (4)

Hi !
From my ( thorough enough ? ) research, it doesn't seem it has been requested yet so ...

The modular type pattern may certainly be the most used screen I guess so it would be nice to have some choices of layouts for more efficient tweaking depending of what you favor ...

Currently I don't understand the position of table and patch which are inserted between the physical outputs colunms, I will name this block as " outputs " ( CV - Trig - Mod ) because I really badly compute a track inserted in this logical physical layout.

Ideally per project, you could have modular layout's choices like :

outputs - table - patch - FX
outputs - FX - table - patch
table - outputs - patch- FX ( could be my future favorite )
etc ... ( I don't see outputs on the far right so that should limit the permutations )

Currently I'am still a Nerdseq intern so I haven't found my ways around but I foresee "themed" projects with more emphasis on certain elements so if they are regrouped that will make the editing clickless as possible ...  Smile
