MIDI track with CV - Trigger different outputs
Posted by: JX3D - 08-14-2021, 11:45 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (1)

In a MIDI track when entering SHIFT-OK on velocity, its possible to select different outputs for CV and MOD, but not for TRIGGERS.
I would love it to be possible to select different TRIGGER outputs, so programming for example drums could be easier.

  Recording issues
Posted by: hima - 08-11-2021, 12:11 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (6)

I have track 1 set up with tables generating an interesting note sequence with a very basic gate pattern alternating between one step on and one step off.

I've patched the CV and trigger outs into input 1 and 2 respectively.

In the project menu I've gone into Input/record setup and set input 1 to record CV 2 - Note and inout 2 to record GATE 2. Live input is set to ON.

On track 2 I've created a new pattern and am recording into that. But what arrives is nowhere near what was being played by track 1. All notes are set to 0 in the octave range and about 1 out of every 4 gates is recorded.

Am I doing something wrong, or are my expectations of the nerdseq unrealistic?

  CV 16 & External Keyboard
Posted by: sak-rwsd - 08-09-2021, 06:11 AM - Forum: NerdSEQ Expanders - Replies (8)

Hi, I don’t think I ever figured this out with my CV 16 Expander.  Can I use an external keyboard, say the Keystep, and play notes the way I can with a modular track?  Thanks!

  PCRD vs. table allowed notes
Posted by: geremy - 08-05-2021, 03:54 AM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (8)

A quick question about using the PCRD fx while a table is active, and quantizing to subset of allowed notes in an octave:

My setup here is I have a simple 8 note sequence with 2 of the notes randomized to range 0.  I have a table setup to disallow some notes so the sequence sounds 'nice'.  On all of these 8 notes I also have a PRCD in the FX1 slot (PCRD 014 to be precise).  What happens when PCRD calculates the notes in the chord for the remaining 3 CV outputs based on the randomly selected root note, and those notes are disallowed by the table?  Does PRCD win? does the table just quantize the notes (I have quantize setting 'down' resulting in the [potentially] incorrect chord), or does the PRCD calculate 'correctly' based upon the allowed notes in the table.  I guess the real question is the order of operations between the table and PCRD in fx 1?  I have tried to study it as it plays through but it is hard to make out what is happening on the randomly selected notes.  Thanks!

Save a Project to sub folder
Posted by: Barney Rubble - 08-03-2021, 07:49 PM - Forum: Feature requests - No Replies

Hi Thomas,

Currently the Load menu lets me choose a project that is in a sub folder. Saving a project is not consistent with the Load menu because a project loaded from a sub folder is saved as new file into the root projects folder.

Can the save project function be updated to save the project file in it's original sub folder location or facility to select a sub folder?

Cheers

  FX Not Working 1st Time
Posted by: MATTHS - 07-30-2021, 05:42 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (1)

The Select Track Clock used as an FX to change the speed of a track to Divide by 2 is not working until the pattern has played around twice - essentially having the FX played/triggered twice for it to activate.

The Select Track Clock is on Step 1 of Pattern 2. As soon as the sequencer plays Step 1 of Pattern 2, the Track Clock should play at half the speed no?

I presume that therefore this is a bug and this is not how it should function.

I have not tried other FX to see if this is across all of them, only on the Select Track Clock.

I am on the latest RC firmware.

  Expander "catch up"

Hi,

Are we likely to see new and original functionalities in Nerdseq in the expanders any time soon?

Stuff like...

New ratchet types in More Triggers?
Patches and Tables in More Triggers and More CV?

  Clock division settings per sequence
Posted by: chuckleone - 07-29-2021, 05:26 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (14)

Is it possible to add a clock division/multiplication setting for each sequence? I like how I can set the clock for each row but I find myself wanting to set the clock differently for some sequences in the same row in addition.

  Some FM examples
Posted by: XORadmin - 07-29-2021, 10:01 AM - Forum: Everything Else - Replies (1)

I took some time yesterday to create some FM and Oscillator examples.
They are attached as project files and can be loaded with version V1.23 or later.

They are envelopes and sometimes LFO involved. Just FYI, I use envelopes 8,7,6,5 (depends on the patch) for the audio stuff.

Do you pair your Nerdseq with another sequencer?
Posted by: depaffect - 07-26-2021, 11:19 AM - Forum: Everything Else - Replies (13)

Just a question for my fellow users!

Do you have another sequencer that you pair with Nerdseq? Perhaps for more "hands on" control? Maybe something that interacts with Nerdseq?

I have been using it with Make Noise Rene 2 which can be fun, but the lack of easy gate length control on the Rene 2 is a bit of a bummer. And to be honest, it seems faulty as of today which leads me to think a replacement is impending. Or perhaps Nerdseq is fine by itself and I don't need another sequencer.

Curious to hear your experiences!
