I'm happy to present you the next release with a bunch of new functions and some minor fixes. It is the same version as the V1.13 RC3, so if you use it already there is no need to download it. The manual is also updated to V0.9.9 for this release.
Here an overview of the new functions and fixes:
- Added: Mute - Unmute functions ( SHIFT+DOWN+START mutes/unmutes the current track)
- Added: Solo/Unsolo functions ( SHIFT+UP+START solos/unsolos current track)
- Added: When editing in pattern screen: SHIFT+UP+DELETE Removes the current row and shifts all one up from below the row.
SHIFT+DOWN+DELETE Inserts an empty row and shifts all one down from that point
- Fix: Disabled Merge and compact functions which are not usable yet but could have caused problems
- Added the Nerdmenu which can be reached by pressing the Nerd button (SHIFT+AUTOMATE) with several functions:
Undo - undo for the last (and only the last) action in the sequencer or the (same) pattern screen
In pattern screen without marked values: Randomize current value
In pattern screen with marked values: Transpose +1, Transpose -1, Transpose +12, Transpose -12, Flip Rows, Randomize row order, Randomize values
- Fix for the random generator
- Fix: avoid START, STOP and value change when in mark mode
- Fix: Avoid endless loop when Mark+Insert copy on the first row
- Added: Current Values screen. Shows current values of the current track including manipulation of the values (OK on the Triggerexecutes the trigger setting)
- Added: Support for folders/maps in the file browsers (take care that you choose not too long folder names, space is not endless(even if they tell you so)), also still there is no alfabetical sorting (which is in fact impossible cause of the lack of memory or it would be extremely ressource eating). So you either copy your files in your order on the sd card or you use some of the directory sorters which are available for all platforms)
Filebrowser shows now 10 instead of 8 files per side.
- Fix: Midi problem where a gate could stay set when the Midi master send 2 times the same Note-Off erratically
- Added: Midi Enable/Disable. Turns midi reception on/off except for sync, so if you want to clock but the NerdSEQ shouldn't react on midi notes etc.
- Some beauty fixes
hi,
would it be possible to write a project file "manually"?
would you be willing (because it is reasonably doable, not super secret) and would it be possible for you to describe the data structure of a project file and how to encode and whatever is needed to the point that someone could create one with a script for example?
someone could create an converter of other tracker formats, an offline editor, midi file conversion ..
The new transpose features are nice, but it would be great if there was a faster way to transpose all values in a column instead of having to set the start and end mark manually. A nice way to handle this would be some sort of 'mark all' function, where the entire column was marked, so it would be faster to transpose. Or alternatively, why not just add a 'transpose all' and 'transpose marked' to the nerd menu, so you dont have to mark anything first.
It would be really cool to have a touch loop style command like the beatstep pro "roller" feature and similar concepts on some other sequencers.
Basically, you'd hold a button down and it would loop a certain period until you let go, and then it would jump ahead to the current song position as if you'd just let it keep playing.
So maybe shift+down+an arrow key would loop different divisions (up could be 1 beat, down could be .5 beat, left could be .25 beat, right could be .125 beat or something) for more performance options.
Here is a video of the concept on the beatstep pro, starting at around 10:25:
having this clock reset output synced to midi is already awesome, being able to manually trigger that would be even <add fav superlative here> (that'd be nice too)
First to mention; thanks for yet another lovely update! Nerdseq brings so much joy
One thing though, I can not quite seem to get the hang yet of the "Insert Row" function. In pattern-screen it works just fine. Both deleting and inserting a row. When in sequencer-screen though, it doesn't same to work. Only deleting (shift+up+delete) works, but only for the current column, not for the entire row. Inserting (shift+down+delete) doesn't seem to do anything.
Here is the release candidate 3 for Version V1.13
In fact it is the newest version with all the new features, but not completely tested yet and so maybe not usable in a productive way (though i would use it). No guarantees! But give it a try, you can always downgrade if needed.
The manual is also not updated yet, so you got to figure out the usage of new functions by youself for now.

It seems that the gates doesn't close when triggering via midi. It doesn't always happen, but I will try to explain what I do when it does.
Sometimes it happens when I have the Arturia Keystep connected to the midi in on the expander. When I start the arp/seq on the keystep it almost always happens.
Today I wanted to try using Reason 10 to send notes to the nerdseq. I added an arpeggiator to the external instrument in reason and it was then that it opened the gate and never closed.
When it does happen, I start and stop the nerdseq to close the gate again.
