  *SOLVED* never in sync
Posted by: tuj - 04-01-2018, 04:04 PM - Forum: Beauty and less important bugs/glitches - Replies (24)

Hi all:

I just upgraded the firmware to the latest on the site.  I have been using the NerdSeq since the first batch that was public.  I am having a chronic problem with getting the NS to sync with my other gear.  I am sending it a 16th clock and I have it set to slave-16 in the settings.  It actually does sync, but it is always exactly 1 step behind the main clock.  Also sending a reset does nothing.

This has been bothering me since I got the unit, and it continues even with the newest firmware.  I am very troubled by this.

All my other gear syncs correctly to my master clock and resets correctly:
-Trigger Riot
-Varigate4
-Stilson Hammer MK2
-Rene
-Z8000
-this list could go on and on, my system is large.

Why is the NerdSeq not resetting?  Why is it always one step behind?  Hasn't anyone else had this problem?

  NerdSeq and polyphonic oscillators
Posted by: ollim - 03-31-2018, 05:29 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (5)

Hi,

in the near future i want to buy a polyphonic oscillator to connect to the NerdSeq.

In my mind i have
1010music Synthbox
Flame 4 Vox

Does anyone here use a polyphonic oscillator together with NerdSeq and can tell about his experiences?
Are there other modules i have overseen?
In the moment i am using QU-Bit Chord and Music Thing Modular Chord Organ, but that modules have to much limitations in really free selection of the wanted chord.

  Different Clock Output Divisions
Posted by: note! - 03-29-2018, 01:06 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (2)

Would it be possible to get other clock outputs (other than 24ppqn and 1/16"). Would be great to get 1/4, 1/8 as well - if possible. This would help with syncing to other, less advanced sequencers!

Just a thought - not crucial as this can be handled by dividers - thanks

  Few requests
Posted by: shledge - 03-28-2018, 06:44 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (1)

I got mine last week and I'm really enjoying it. However, there are a few little things I think could make it even better:

- BRK commands work within patterns, rather than as a means to advance to the next pattern. For example, have one section of a pattern repeat 3 times, before it advances to the rest of that pattern. At the moment it won't work - it instead skips to the next pattern in sequence.

- Option to use MOD outputs as gates, would be really good for drums!

- Ability to invert reset input as an option, and to invert gates.

- Transpose patterns from sequencer

- Options to change gate behaviour eg. a change it that note can either send a gate/trigger and whether to use rests to determine gate length.

  NerdSeq - Kind of cheatsheet
Posted by: ollim - 03-27-2018, 05:47 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (7)

Hi,

over the last few days, i tried to collect all key and shortcuts possible in all screens.
Here is the list i just completed.
It would be nice, if you all look over it for errors, missed keys and shortcuts and things which are not clear.
Maybe this list could be something for including in the manual.

Thanks!

Update 2018.03.28: Added <SHIFT + DOWN + DELETE> combination in pattern Screen.

Inserting a patch in a pattern and changing the Parameter BASENOTE in the patch seems not to work.
Or am i overseeing something?

*NO FOLLOW UP* Sample browsing problems
Posted by: ollim - 03-27-2018, 08:53 AM - Forum: Beauty and less important bugs/glitches - Replies (1)

Firmware V1.14a.

I have put a lot of samples in different folders in the sample folder.

Like this:
"000_Kick" with 16 raw sample files
"001_Kick" with 287 raw sample files (named from "Kick0001.raw" to "Kick0287.raw")
"010_Snare" with 20 raw sample files
"011_Snare" with 278 raw sample files (named from "Snare0001.raw" to "Snare0278.raw")
"020_CHH" with 4 raw sample files
"021_CHH" with 136 raw sample files (named from "HH0001.raw" to "HH0136.raw")

If i browse in these folders, i get weird results:
"000_Kick" - all 16 files are displayed
"001_Kick" - only 31 files are displayed ("Kick0001.raw" to "Kick0031.raw")
"010_Snare" - all 20 files are displayed
"011_Snare" - only 22 files are displayed ("Snare0001.raw" to "Snare0022.raw")
"020_CHH" - all 4 files are displayed
"021_CHH" - all 136 files are displayed!

So in my "001_Kick" and "011_Snare" folders only a part of the files are displayed.
But in the "021_CHH" folder all files are displayed.

What is the rule behind it or what can i do, so that all files in all folders will be displayed?

BRK not listening to FX Prob in Sample Channel
Posted by: note! - 03-27-2018, 02:38 AM - Forum: Beauty and less important bugs/glitches - Replies (2)

Just noticed that BRK is not listening to to FX probability in Sample Channel 7 (works fine in 1-6). However, other FX parameters do - I have a retrig in FX1 that was only triggering according to FX prob while it was ignoring BRKs. See video below - I moved the BRK and FX prob to FX2 to clean up and show that it's triggering the BRK every pass, not according to PRF2-0014. Is this normal?

Let me know if I'm screwing something up but I don't see how any other parameters could be resetting the PROB - there's nothing in the other FX channels that would do so. Save file attached if necc!

Photo Copying 16 Steps of Groove - weird values
Posted by: note! - 03-27-2018, 02:30 AM - Forum: Beauty and less important bugs/glitches - Replies (2)

When copying 16 steps of a custom groove in to a different pattern, groove did not copy to the groove column but rather to the FX 4 column as a bunch of FXX values (albeit with the correct 3 digit for the groove haha). See image below!

  First day with Nerdseq
Posted by: Patate le mage - 03-23-2018, 08:53 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (1)

I received it yesterday, and i have to say it's far far away from my expectations, what a marvellous module. Heart Heart Heart

Not easy to understand, but potential is huge.

There is one difficulty i was not able to understood so far.

I made a little pattern and i attached a table to it, on the first step of it.

When i remove this table from the pattern view it continues to be active and transform my pattern.

Probably a misunderstanding from me, but i'm not sure.
