[FIXED] Status show 'Edit enabled' if edit mode is disabled in pattern view
Posted by: mowlthrow - 12-13-2021, 12:52 PM - Forum: Beauty and less important bugs/glitches - Replies (1)

When I switch the edit mode in pattern view (tilde on pc keyboard via Video-IO expander) the status bar always shows 'Edit enabled'.
Additional: It would be fine if I can see the current state of the edit mode in pattern view permanently.

  Sample and hold
Posted by: theotteryears - 12-11-2021, 04:50 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (4)

Hi,
Quick question… Is there a way to use the automator to send out a signal like sample and hold- using the noise out of the automator, can I trigger the sampling of this noise from a track?

Thanks

  My first video (finally)
Posted by: mgd - 12-11-2021, 04:10 PM - Forum: Your Setup - Replies (12)

Hi Nerds,

under https://youtu.be/ibsKATUop9s https://youtu.be/Y2kCT88P9hc is a slightly edited version of my first video. I apologize for the poor camera - my phone holder for my tripod got misplaced somehow and thus I had to hold the camera by hand.

The overlayed text tries to explain what I've done and how things work.

A large part of the stuff going on is the NerdSEQ. I'm not aware of any other sequencer in eurorack, that could do anything remotely similar.
As with many things the interpretation of the music isn't completed. In particular the dynamics could use some more work. I also might eventually change the sound of the various voices though I currently have no idea in what way.

I'll appreciate comments and in particular regarding things that could be improved.

Kind regards,
Michael

PS: The first couple of seconds there is no sound (that is intentional)

  Project Sharing
Posted by: Catchthehare - 12-07-2021, 01:46 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (6)

This may have been covered already, but is there a resource that would have user-projects available to share? I know the complexities of our set-ups could make accurate project sharing challenging. There are quite a few things that I struggle to get the hang of, notably the fx column, and some template examples I could load up would really help.  Cool

Track activity on sequencer screen update bug
Posted by: yrn1 - 12-05-2021, 06:21 PM - Forum: Beauty and less important bugs/glitches - Replies (1)

I have a modular track (track 5 in the video), then outputs CV and Mod on modular outputs 5 and also CV and Mod on outputs 6, using track FX. The activity display on the sequencer screen correctly shows the CV and Mod values of track 5 and also shows the Mod values of track 6, but not the CV values. See video.

  Launchpad

Just wanted to ask, Which Launchpads work with the Nseq?  and when the usb/i2c expander comes out, will this list grow?

I want to get a launchpad mini mk3 for the system.

  [FIXED] Delete while recording
Posted by: yrn1 - 11-29-2021, 04:41 PM - Forum: Beauty and less important bugs/glitches - Replies (9)

According to the manual, we should be able to delete data while recording, by holding down TABLE. This should remove events as then pass by. This doesn't seem to work for me: I'm recording with a MIDI keyboard on a Modular track. Also verified on a MIDI track. Did I misunderstand this functionality?

Here's a video:

add midi FX for program change
Posted by: banjodan - 11-28-2021, 09:23 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (2)

For some (most?) midi synths, you need to send two bank select CCs (msb and lsb) before you send a PC command. If we had an FX program change, then we could do it all on the same row with FX1, FX2, and FX3. Or maybe just a setup option to send FX before PC.

  Mark + Delete = Cut
Posted by: yrn1 - 11-26-2021, 07:26 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (4)

Wouldn't it be handy if Mark + Delete would also put the content in the copy buffer? Like 'Cut' instead of 'Delete' in general computer terms? It's now rather cumbersome to move stuff around: first Mark + Mark to put stuff in the copy buffer, the Mark again + Delete to delete it. It would be great if those two could be merged in one...

Or is there another way to cut/paste I'm not aware of?

  i2c expander questions
Posted by: Friend of Dogs - 11-26-2021, 07:03 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (2)

As I wait patiently for the final piece of my puzzle, I've come up with some questions about the nature of what it is I'm looking forward to. If any of these have been asked else where I apologize.

1. Will the i2c additions work in a similar way to the moreCV more-trigs modules, where you set up i2c into a single track?.  So for example, track 5 will be set up and then contain something like the 6 CV channels and you pick and choose which of the 100 ports that one works with?

If so, will there be options like 8 triggers over i2c, 6 CV style channel over i2c, 4note polyphony i2c?...regular channel i2c, etc?

2. will i2c channels be accessible outside of tracks? For instance I use my ER-301 as an fx and a mixer for a few oscillators. Would I be able to send cv and triggers over i2c in the track fx section of a regular track, say controlling my akemie's castle?

3. This is more to my own ignorance of how things work, but will I be able to control i2c channels from an external midi source? Making it a kind of midi to i2c converter (something that as far as I know doesn't exist in eurorack yet, or if it does its only amongst deeper level engineers)

4. If you can access the i2c of outside of a track can you set up a kind of i2c thru. Say you have 16n --> Nerdseq ---> ER-301, can you auto connect some 16n ports to the ER-301, bypassing the nerdseq

5. Question not just for the Nerdseq King.

- What are you guys intending to connect to? Is there anything else you envision being integrated as beautifully as I imagine the er-301 will be?

thanks!
