  Scrolling tables.
Posted by: T3t_one - 03-14-2021, 03:45 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (2)

Instead of having to go to Pattern screen, finding the table to edit and pressing OK, Is it possible to have the ability to scroll through the Tables from the Table screen, much like Pattern scroll.

Thanks.

  Poly Chord mode?
Posted by: mntbighker - 03-13-2021, 07:44 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (21)

Anybody have any thoughts on potential for a polyphonic chord mode? Where for example CV 2 -5 go to four voices and track one sequences the chords. As far as I know everything is currently note based. But I also know, for example, that O_C has a poly chord function. It seems like if it can do it, Nerdseq should be able to. Alternately, maybe someone could put together a helpful guide for sequencing O_C with Nerdseq.

Totally thinking out loud here again  Cool

  Midi delay to hardware sampler
Posted by: [insert electronic music] - 03-13-2021, 05:25 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (6)

Been loving the nerdseq so much!! but run into my first little problem,
Im sending the midi out to an emu or Akai rack sampler (ESI 4000/CD3000i)
my mate pointed out there's a slight delay on it and now it cant be unheard  Confused
When checking the signals on a computer there's between 0.005-0.01 second difference in the triggering of the cv and internal samples to the midi samplers
there's no midi chain its direct form nerdseq to sampler
When ive searched if its a problem on the sampler side of things all I can find is people saying the advantage of them (over computers) is the lack of signal delay.

Am I missing any setting I can change or any routes round how to fix it?  outside of recording it on a different channel and editing on a computer?

thanks for reading and making this beast of a sequencer
hope you having a good day
x

  Random Notes - Audio/Sample Tracks
Posted by: broecker - 03-13-2021, 03:44 PM - Forum: Feature requests - No Replies

The ability to have the notes on the Audio/Sample tracks be random within a set range like the CV tracks.Would be great for the FM!

  Single Cycle Waveforms
Posted by: broecker - 03-12-2021, 10:32 PM - Forum: Feature requests - No Replies

The ability to use Single Cycle Waveforms in the sample tracks. Maybe be able to use them like the included waveforms, but with the ability to scan through say 64. Probably asking a lot from the processor, but figured I would ask as I did not find where anyone else had asked for this feature.

  NERDseq, Digitakt and PC messages! Any solutions?
Posted by: sak-rwsd - 03-12-2021, 06:39 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (4)

Hi Guys,

I know this has been an issue with the DT.  It’s been a awhile since I tried to sequence PC messages from Ableton to the DT, but I had found some sort of script (can’t remember the details just now!) that someone created that helped with this. Now, I want to sequence my DT drum programming with PC change messages from the NERDseq, but the changes don’t happen instantaneously as they do with most other gear.  Have any of you DT users found an approach that works with NERDseq, other than placing the changes four bars or whatever ahead?

Thanks!

  FM on NerdSEQ: Is it FM or PM?
Posted by: mgd - 03-12-2021, 02:01 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (1)

In the process of becoming more familiar with NerdSEQ's FM engine I would like to understand whether it is FM or actually PM (phase modulation).

The difference as far as I understand it is this:
  PM(t) = a*sin( f  * t + b * sin(f' * t))
  FM(t) = a*sin( (f + b * sin(f' * t)) * t)

For two operators this is pretty much the same but it will become different with three or more operators in a row.

Just curious Smile

Kind regards,
Michael

  Zadar?
Posted by: mntbighker - 03-12-2021, 07:44 AM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (7)

Question for the room... I was thinking today that I have been somewhat unimpressed with the "audio" channel side on my Nerdseq. What is the collective opinion on moving those channels to be more focused on using them as a variation on the Zadar wave table LFO/EG theme? And less in the audio direction. Not having thought the matter through as far as implementation really. Just.. are envelopes more useful than sample playback. Nerdseq is like a living organism, so I'm curious who thinks a little genetic manipulation would be a good thing?  Undecided

  Small(?) addition to quantize in tables
Posted by: mgd - 03-12-2021, 06:54 AM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (1)

Hi Forum,

I've just toyed a bit with the quantize settings in tables and found I could not quantize the way I wanted. Here's my usecase:
Allowed Notes set to
C, E, G (C maj threechord)

I want this quantization:
C# -> C
D -> C or E, see note below
D# -> E
F -> E
F# -> G
G# -> G
A -> G
A# -> C
B -> C

Essentially this maps to the nearest note. D is a special case as there is no clear nearest. Here I want to choose between UP/LOW/COIN (I would have preferred DOWN instead of LOW since that's the former is the opposite of UP while the later is the opposite of HIGH...)
I suggest to name these N-UP/N-DN (or N-LW)/N-CN

At least in my tests the current behaviour of UP and LOW is such that notes outside the allow ones are always quantized UP or LOW(DOWN) which of course is a mode I want to have as well Smile

If what I suggest is already there, I have not yet understood how to achieve it.

Kind regards,
Michael

  Tables for Midi tracks
Posted by: LostForWords - 03-11-2021, 10:35 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (5)

Is this coming anytime soon? I would love to have the same random notes in a set scale feature for midi notes that the modular track tables can do. Even more so now that each midi note can be on a different channel.
