  Tuning Mode
Posted by: _ish - 03-30-2021, 12:15 AM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (3)

Just a passing thought: the Intellijel Tetrapad, when coupled with its expander, has a nice feature for tuning oscillators - when enabled, all gates go high, and all pitch cv outs get set to c0.

I almost didn't suggest this as it seems simple enough to save a project with these settings, but it might still be useful in the middle of a project (when exiting and re-entering the project might be a hassle. Ideally, it also wouldn't demand the sequencer be running to generate the effect. Maybe tuck it away in the Nerd menu?

  Alternate pattern cloning behavior
Posted by: spilthyfred - 03-29-2021, 06:45 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (23)

Hi, I would really like an alternate cloning behavior. Angel

Current behavior:

When cloning a pattern it replaces the original one in the same spot.

Requested behavior when cloning a pattern:

1. the original one stays in its place

2. the clone populates at the first empty spot below it, and

3. the cursor also moves to this new position and the clone pattern is highlighted and "grabbed" so that you can then use the cursors to position the new pattern along the grid, then

4. press OK to execute.

This would be very useful to me, as I often write out a pattern and then clone it to make a variation. I like to string the patterns together with each variation below the last. With the current behavior, I have to clone it, and then reset the original pattern, and then move to the next spot below to place the new clone. It just feels a little clunky for my use cases.

Whereas with this new behavior, I could for example easily just press Shift+OK to clone pattern 00, and then OK again and I would have clone pattern 01 placed right below it. I could do this as many times as I like to make a stream of cloned patterns (00, 01, 02, 03...). Then I could go into each one and add my variations, plus the numbering of the patterns would be nice and tidy. If I didn't want the new clone pattern right below, I would just use the cursors to put it wherever I want before pressing OK to place it. Also, if there is already a pattern existing below the one being cloned, the new clone would just move down to the first available empty spot below to avoid unintentional overwriting. I suppose there could possibly be the addition of a "clone highlight" colour to the user interface setup too.

Please consider this., I hope it all makes sense!

  Trigger/Gate decoupling
Posted by: psienide - 03-28-2021, 03:31 AM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (8)

Is there some way to decouple gates and triggers on a track?

Let's say I use a track for a voice, but only the CV and MOD which is an internal envelope gated internally.

Is it possible to then use the trigger output independently? Say to trigger a drum sound on a different step that may not have a note/gate - without also triggering the gate?

If not - treat this is a feature request please!

  V/oct Base note
Posted by: psienide - 03-28-2021, 12:29 AM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (1)

Please correct me if i'm wrong, but I don't see any way to set a global v/oct base note.

It would be nice to set a 0v reference for all notes in the sequencer - I currently prefer C1 because it seems to be the norm for most of my gear. It seems like the Nerdseq goes with C0.

I know you can fix this with transpose, etc, but a more global setting would be preferred.

  Program Change outside MIDI track
Posted by: cavimaster - 03-26-2021, 10:22 AM - Forum: Feature requests - No Replies

Dear Santa Klaus (AKA Thomas),

I would really need to be able to send MIDI Program Change (and even better control change) outside of a MIDI track.
(Because all my tracks are already used in CV)
At best via an FX on a modular track or at minimal just a project parameter.

What might be possible maybe maybe: a project parameter that sends a program change on a defined MIDI channel when the project is loaded or started ??

reality? Utopia?  Angel

( it would be used to automatically load patches / projects / scenes on other MIDI devices)

Thank you

Arbitrary voltage out CV2 output when FX is 000
Posted by: Karlo - 03-25-2021, 04:35 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (15)

Track1: Pattern 0B
Pattern B: FX1 is CV2 000

However, on track 2 it's seems to be sending a voltage to the CV2 output regardless that the value is 000. It seems to choose an arbitrary value every time is passes the (track 1) row with CV2 000.

I would expect it to send 0 CV out the assigned output (CV2).

I get the same result trying CV3, CV4, etc.

I've attached the project file to help illustrate.

Please advise and Thank You.

Send midi start and stop message
Posted by: mewraz - 03-24-2021, 09:44 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (13)

Hi!

I have tried to search the manual and forum for this but can not find it.
Does the nerdseq send midi start and midi stop messages when I start / stop the sequencer?
I use the new trs-a midi expander.

Thanks!

  Chaining tables - how?
Posted by: mgd - 03-24-2021, 08:09 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (2)

Hi Forum!

I'm trying to chain two tables and can't get it to work. Here is what I do:
I have two tables 00 and 01. Both are set
Source: Int. Tick
Speed: 03
Type: >ONCE
no range, no quantization
Nothing in column HP, some values in TP and FX only TRIG except for table 00 which has TABL 0001 on step 0F

BPM is set to 60, otherwise it would be too fast.

The pattern looks like this:
00 C-6  ...  00 (in table column)
...
10 D-6  ...  00
...
20 E-6  ...  00
...
30 F-6  ...  00
...

However only table 00 is played, table 01 is never called.

I had expected this:
00 C-6  ...  00 (in table column)
...
08 C-6  ...  01
...
10 D-6  ...  00
...
18 D-6  ...  01
...
20 E-6  ...  00
...
28 E-6  ...  01
...
30 F-6  ...  00
...
38 F-6  ...  01
...

Am I doing something wrong?
How do I chain tables?

I'm on 1.24 RC11

Kind regards,
Michael

  Enveloppe %probability ?
Posted by: zerius - 03-24-2021, 02:43 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (4)

Hi there,

I have been playing a lot with enveloppes in the FX sections and I enjoy placing specific enveloppe values per steps.

I'm wondering if there are some kind of % probability enveloppes in the FX section similar to CV/Trig/Mod/FX but specific to enveloppes? I would like being able to trigger my enveloppes FX value randomly with probability.

I tried the the FX prob with enveloppes per steps on my FX1 page but it makes my sequence freezes.

cheers.

  MIDI CC Curves
Posted by: sak-rwsd - 03-21-2021, 06:25 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (3)

I was messing around with automating some faders in Ableton via the NERDSEQ, using MIDI/CC values.  I couldn’t find any equivalent of glide, to create any fade ins, versus manually entering values.  Is there any way to do this?  Would it be through the Automator?  I tried sending an envelope with a slow attack to control preset 1, which I had mapped to CC1, which Ableton had mapped to a particular fader via MIDI learn, but it didn’t seem to work.  I was confused about how to route it though, on the envelope page (I think I tried source and destination none, and tried to use as FX to trigger the envelope, which in Automator was directed to control preset 1; maybe this is wrong?).  It would be create to be able to make some curves and such.
