CV16 some notes not being played

Hi Forum,
I have been playing around with sequencing 3 tracks with 3 notes and gates/mods per track (i.e. 9 notes and mods in total). The track setup is like this:
Track 1: ext CV 1-6 (notes and gates/mods alternating)
Track 2: ext CV 7-12 (notes and gates/mods alternating)
Track 3: ext CV 13-16, ext CV 5-6 (notes and gates/mods alternating)
Obviously ext CV 5 and 6 were allocated twice. For the time being I don't care and meanwhile I changed those two tracks to local CV 6/local mod 6.
The strange behaviour I encountered was with the double allocation of ext CV 5-6.
All 3 tracks have patterns in all sequencer rows from 00 to 0F.
Here is what happened:
I played the whole 3 tracks starting from sequencer row 00 and in row 02 Track 3 missed out on a couple of notes.
Tried again from 00 and again the notes were missing.
Then played Track 3 alone from row 02 and the notes were there.
Then played Track 3 alone from row 00 and the notes were there.
Now played all tracks from row 02 and the notes were there.
Going back one row and played all tracks from row 01 and the notes were there.
Going back one row and played all tracks from row 00 and the notes were missing.
Went into track setup, loaded calibration data, moved the cursor around a bit and played all tracks from row 00 again and all notes were there. From here on I have not been able to make the notes disappear during playback again.
I switched off my modular in case it is an initial setup issue but so far the problem did not reappear. I also have changed the double allocation of ext CV 5-6 as described above.
I have no idea wether the loading of calibration data for the CV16 had anything to do with it but I thought I'd report the whole thing in case someone else stumbles across something similar.
Kind regards,
Michael

Tip: Randomly selecting alternating patterns

I have been experimenting with adding more randomness to my Nerdseq patterns, especially for percussion tracks where it can really spice things up. Tables are a great tool for adding simple fills, and the PRTB effect can make this random which is great (random triplet fills on hihat-type patterns are fun). But I have been wanting to have a way to select one of several completely different alternate patterns for a snare fill and had a hard time getting it to work. I finally did so I thought I'd write up a little tip in case anyone else wants to do this.
My intent is to have pattern 00 be the "base" snare pattern, and have it alternate with a pattern randomly selected from 01, 02, 03, and 04. So like 00 -> 01 -> 00 -> 03 -> 00 -> 01 -> 00 -> 04 etc.
The key thing I realized was that if you hit multiple STSP fx before the end of the pattern the last one wins, and in any case nothing happens until you reach a BRK or the end of the full pattern.
So in my Sequencer view I have the snare track like so (in track 1):
00
--
01
02
03
04
Then in the last 6 steps of the Pattern 00 FX1 and FX2 columns:
PRF1 019 ; set prob of FX1 to 25%
STSP 102 ; 25% chance to jump to 01
STSP 103 ; 25% chance to jump to 02
STSP 104 ; 25% chance to jump to 03
STSP 105 ; 25% chance to jump to 04, otherwise play 00 again
BRK 000 PRF1 064 ; end pattern and reset FX1 prob to 100%
And in the last steps of patterns 01 -- 04:
STSP 100 ; start pattern 00 again
BRK 000 ; end pattern
The mathematically-minded will recognize that there's not exactly 25% chance of each pattern being jumped to; the earlier ones are more likely to win (it's about 25% for 01, 19% for 02, 14% for 03, 10% for 04, and 31% that 00 will be played again) but that's good enough for me. You can tweak PRF1 from step to step if you want to even it out.
EDIT: My probabilities are wrong above Since the last one wins and all 4 steps get executed, the later ones are more likely to win! More like 10% for 01, 14% for 02, 19% for 03, 25% for 04, 31% that 00 is played again.
Enjoy!

Probability for table triggers?

Hi!
I'm trying to create a table filled with triggers and a probability for those to trigger. The FX column is:
PRTR 0001
TRIG 0010
TRIG 0010
TRIG 0010
TRIG 0010
TRIG 0010
PRTR 0064
^All of those triggers are played each time. Tried with the TRG1 effect, as well, same effect. Could someone point me to the right direction?
Thanks!

Trigger Sample slots from midi

Hi,
I wonder if there’s a way to trigger track 7-8’s sample slots via midi.
I can only seem to play them chromatically.
On Digitakt this is solved by letting octave 0 trigger different samples.
So on thev NerdSeq maybe it could work something with similar.
Ie. C0 = slot 1, C#0 = slot 2 etc.
My reason for wanting this is to be able to enter a beat fast via another sequencer.
Thanks in advanced

I accidently broke the SD card that came with my NerdSeq.
I have a backup, but can't find any details on recommended card type, max compatible size (it's hard to find 2GB these days) and format type (Fat32, exFat, NTFS)?
thanks

Extend STSP FX function

Hi Forum,
I have the following wish:
Make STSP conditional w/r to the CV inputs, i.e. execute a STSP depending on the value (above/equal/below) of a selected CV. That way the sequencer itself would be controllable by external CV (jumping from pattern island to pattern island via CV).
Or is that already possible and I just overlooked it?
Kind regards,
Michael

Hi Forum,
I'd like to see a JUMP command that is executed a set number of times.
I could also see use for JUMP conditional on one of the CV inputs, i.e. CV above/equal/below a certain value/note.
Kind regards,
Michael
