  Launchpad note input
Posted by: SB-SIX - 07-24-2025, 09:27 PM - Forum: Feature requests - No Replies

I was wondering if this would be possible. For instance, when in a pattern, and you press record, the launchpad grid would turn into a note layout, following the scale of that track. Then you could play live on the launchpad and the notes are recorded to the pattern.

Triggering Pulsar 23 with trigger expander
Posted by: Oliv Oliv - 07-08-2025, 09:02 AM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (2)

Ive got an issue that i want to solve. I sequence my Pulsar 23 with my nerdseq + trigger expander. Triggers are ±5v ranging from 10-80ms. this is not enough for full velocity (10volt) on the pulsar so I purchased the doepfer quad level shifter A-183-4. Now the triggers should reach at least 10v but still they sound like they are not reaching their full velocity. Also the LED indicates that it gets a lower voltage trigger. Am i missing something here?

  Midi mapping for live performance
Posted by: guy38 - 07-04-2025, 05:26 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (1)

Hi nedseqers,

I have a question for my project of live performance.

I want to control by midi CC for each track:
-transpose function
-gate length for each note
-track lengrh
-a particular pattern
-note probability
-fx probability

I think table is the way to go bit unfortunately, i don’t acheive.

Do you have a wah ro do that kind of things.

Best regards

[NO BUG] Trig probability with auto gate on note
Posted by: SB-SIX - 07-03-2025, 10:01 AM - Forum: Beauty and less important bugs/glitches - Replies (2)

When "auto gate on note" is on, it looks like trig probability is ignored. I was wondering if this was by design. I could workaround this by setting the auto gate off of course, but it feels like trig probabilities are useless when using auto gates?

To reproduce:
Set "auto gate on note" on
Input some notes in a pattern
Set trig probability to 0
Note how trigs are still fired for every note

  Using mapping as a comparator
Posted by: ohho - 06-21-2025, 01:33 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (2)

I'm trying to use the mapping to detect when a certain cv signal (in this case an envelope) goes over a certain value, and when it does go above that value I'd like to output a trigger\gate.

See video at the link below for further explanation and question

TPS real time updates main sequencer screen
Posted by: Barney Rubble - 06-13-2025, 09:46 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (2)

Hi Thomas please consider adding real time updates of TPS changes in the main sequencer screen.

I use midi cc to make changes to TPS but real time updates are only seen in the project screen.

thank you for you consideration

Help - multi IO + Akai MPK mini Play
Posted by: tkankelborg - 06-09-2025, 07:23 PM - Forum: NerdSEQ Expanders - Replies (2)

Hi guys,

Newbee here!

I just got the multi IO expander, and really looking forward to using it. I am though, having some start up issues. I am connecting my Akai MPK mini Play to the "host" input - but I am really struggling with the basic setup in terms of getting it setup so that I can record and play the notes from my modules.

Are there any threads that have covered the basic setup when connecting a midi keyboard to the Multi IO? I am trying to read the manual, but at this point I keep getting lost in terms of where to start and how to setup the different parameters.

My dream setup would be to be able to play and record on my Mutable Instruments Plaits in the rack from the Akai MPK Mini Play.

Any help would be great! Smile

  strange note offset??
Posted by: ello - 06-05-2025, 05:30 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (5)

Hello, what could cause my nerdseq to play a#0 when the step clearly shows c-4? i even created a blank new project and added just one c-4 note and a gate to step one. scale is set to chromatic. what is causing this? i don't use the nerdseq regularily and may have completely lost contact Sad

edit: after changing live input in the record menu to "on" it works. is this intended?

[SOLVED] Ghost gate/gltich using MIDI configuration
Posted by: Tamanoir - 06-05-2025, 02:35 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (7)

Hello everyone,

I'm back with a problem I'm having trouble to understand

When notes are played, there are glitches as if the gate send is jammed with ghost gates.

Setup:
Equipment reduced to a minimum for the test:
Nerseq -> Expander -> 3 uDCO (MIDI) - GATE-> ADSR -> VCA ->
- CV -> VCA

Observations:
The problem does not occur when I use the classic CV configuration.
In this example, I have a track configured for MIDI. I'm using three uDCO oscillators configured to receive MIDI only.
Each note is sent to MIDI channel 1, 2, or 3, depending on the available oscillator. (Note that the photo uses channels 2, 3, and 4, but I also had the problem on channels 1, 2, and 3.)
All three MIDI sends are affected by this issue; they all seem to have slightly different audio glitches.
In the video, I play them one by one, isolating each oscillator so that you can hear them clearly.
The glitches are not affected by the MIDI channel selection.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/4EbMPvfl3T4

Video Commentary:

  • The first note played has this jolt that happens quite quickly. It's like a response to the initial gate. In the video at XX seconds, you can see that the response accelerates when I accelerate.
  • the second note played is often doubled, as if there were phantom gates.
  •  the third note has a glitch similar to the first.
Finally, the notes played at the same time, but it's less clear...
Sometimes the glitch also occurs when releasing the gate, but this isn't always the case.

Suspect cleared:
The oscillators are not the cause. The problem also occurs when I swap them out. I tested them on a different power supply, and I even sent some back to Nicolas from Soundforce, initially thinking that was the problem... Confused

The keyboard and the cable are not the problem. In any case, the issue is the same when I manually enter notes in the Nerdseq
The problem doesn't come from the ADSR envelopes; several have been tested.
I also ran a test by connecting only a MIDI-compatible jack from the expander to test each oscillator one by one, bypassing the box that multiplies the MIDI signals; the problem still persists.
Currently on firmware 2.02A, but I had the same problem before.

Potential suspects:
The problem therefore lies either in:
- The Nerdseq MIDI settings or possibly the MIDI expander
Do you have any ideas on what could be impacting note stability and creating these ghost notes?
I have a feeling there's something wrong with my MIDI setup, but I'm having trouble understanding what I'm missing.

Here are the settings for this example:

MIDI live input and CV outputs
Posted by: guy38 - 06-04-2025, 03:58 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (5)

Hi,

Just get a new Nerdseq last WE. I want to use it to sequence patterns with the addition of a beat step pro from Arturia (with midi live input).

To have a coherent set-up with all my hardware's, I want to be able to  (in a modular track):
midi input C0 ------> Nerseq C2 note --------->CV output 0V
midi input C3 ------> Nerseq C5 note --------->CV output 3V
etc......

basically, Nerdseq output 2V when C2 note is recorded. Using Projet/Transpose, I can transpose output voltage to have C2 note -----> 0V. Great, but......when I couple it with Beatstep pro to live input, C0 midi note always output 2V......

It seems that midi live input is not affected by project/Transpose.

I am stuck with that since this morning.....

Thanks a lot for your help!

Guy
