CV16 instead of a dedicated EG module?

Hi!
I'm in need of some envelopes generation in my rack and was considering buying something like a Quadrax or Stages.
Then I saw that the CV16 can be used as an EG too (ASR envelopes) so maybe with it I wouldn't need a dedicated module after all.
I don't have any other EG modules, so I was wondering if it could replace a dedicated module for basic EG duties when used for sequences generated internally (I guess it could be used as an EG for external triggers too, using the inputs?).
From the manual:
Quote:Please keep in mind that the Glide, Envelopes and LFO can never replace real analogue Slews, Envelopes or LFO’s. But they are for sure a very good addition for many applications.
Apart maybe because lacking some advanced features, but why the CV16's envelopes cannot replace real envelopes? Are there any specific limitations in terms of response time or something?

Replace/mix recorded values

Hi.
I couldn't find info neither in the manual nor in the forum, so I thought to propose a feature.
It could be useful if, when recording via the 4 inputs, one could decide if the existing values should be completely replaced or mixed with the new ones, optionally with a way to specify how they should be mixed: percentage new vs old, add, subtract, etc...
I find that, when I record an external sequence, I need to clear each time the previously recorded values so they don't mixed with the new ones...

Midi Arp FX

One thing I really miss is the extensive use of tables from the modular tracks. I figured there's probably some weird logic that keeps midi from having a proper way to do arps so I thought why not make an FX that looks at chord inputs as notes in an arp instead? This way a mono synth or poly synth could both utilize all four note columns this way.
There could be values for up/down/up-down/down-up and maybe another for speed or octave spread.
Cheers!

Time signature for Project

At the moment, the master clock/sequencer sync only works in 4/4.
I propose that theres a new setting added to the settings page which allows you to choose time signature.
This will then sync the main sync points to musical divisions (eg. 11/8 or 7/4 etc). Raised also in this thread... https://forum.xor.eu/showthread.php?tid=680
I have just bought a westlicht performer sequencer to go alongside my Nerdseq and it has the option to set time signature for song and then the amount of bars before sync happens.
So this reconfigures the master sequencer bit (top bar on nerdseq) so that all pattern changes happen at the right time.
would this be possible to implement?
So basically, when you trigger a new row to play - it will respect the time signature of the song before switching.
Something like this in the menu screen:
*Time Signature Beats/Note.... Time signature defining the musical measure/bar length for Sync Measure and Reset Measure on sequences. The time signature is also used to define the length of a bar in song mode.
*Sync Measure 1 - 128 bars... Multiple of measures/bars at which to execute syncing.

Trigger probability based on pattern loops

First post here! Hi all, and massive thanks to Thomas for this wonderful machine. Really pleased I finally got my hands on it.
My feature request is somewhat similar to another thread on Elektron trig conditions, but this is based on their A:B trigger conditions. Personally I think this would make a great addition to the sequencing powers because it allows you to program 'beyond' an initial sequence of 64.
I'm just gonna copy paste from their manual because they describe it than I could:
"A:B
A sets how many times the pattern plays before the trig condition is true. B sets how many times the pattern (or track, if the track length is shorter than the pattern length) plays before the count is reset and starts over again. This cycle then repeats until you stop the sequencer.
For example:
With the setting 1:2, the trig condition is true the first time the pattern plays and then the third, the fifth, and so on.
With the setting 2:2, the trig condition is true the second time the pattern plays and then the fourth, the sixth, and so on.
With the setting 2:4, the trig condition is true the second time the pattern plays and then the sixth, the tenth, and so on.
With the setting 4:7 the trig condition is true the fourth time the pattern plays and then the eleventh, the eighteenth, and so on."
There are many benefits to working like this because you can effectively use the 64 steps to create longer sequences. For example, you have a drum pattern with a snare roll, but you only want the snare to play the fourth time the pattern plays. A setting of the trigger only playing 4:4 (in Elektron terminology) would accomplish that. This effectively means you can use patterns in a more efficient way because they are constantly evolving without the need to switch to a new pattern for things like snare rolls and extra notes.
It's a long shot and definitely not a must, but I think it has a lot of potential.

Looping samples

A neat feature would be looping samples.
Doesn't have to be adjustable loop points or anything, just a normal forward loop. a checkbox or something when loading samples.
I have a small library of single cycle waveforms/noises that I used for chiptunes with PT&FT2, would be neat if I could use them here aswell..
I'll totally understand if it's a feature not possible to implement... but I had to suggest it anyhow =)
