  Hertz/Volt
Posted by: MidiSlave - 03-09-2022, 11:30 AM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (3)

Hi nerds,

I'm wondering if there is something up with the hertz/volt setting or i'm missing something or maybe both..

I'm trying to sequence/play a Behringer K2 with the Nerdseq using CV/gate and I believe it receives Hertz/volt but i'm not having much success there. When I play the K2 directly via my keystep pro (set to Hertz/volt) the K2 pitch/octave range behaves as expected.

any ideas?

Thanks

Nathan

  Single row probability
Posted by: yrn1 - 03-07-2022, 06:34 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (5)

I feel a bit like a noob asking this, but there must be something I’m missing. I have a sequence with notes and triggers. Now I want to have just one row (so both the note value change and the trigger) skipped every now and then. So I set row probability for this row to something low and back to max on the next row. E.g.

1: C3 40
2: D3 40
3: E3 40 row prob 10
4: C3 40 row prob 64
5: …

This of course doesn’t work, because the first probability change (row 3) also applies to the following rows, including the one that sets it back to max, row 4. So if that one doesn’t get executed, then all rows in the sequence play with lower probability until it happens that row 4 passes the probability test and gets executed.

Changing only trigger probability is no good, because those are long-ringing notes. And afaik there is no way to get a trigger and cv probability synced.

So, my question again: how do I change row probability of just a single row?

Thanks for any help!

Sustain CC64 00 (off) on shift stop.
Posted by: Liquidcolor - 03-07-2022, 03:52 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (1)

I’d like to see CC64 Sustain Pedal set to value 00 on a shift stop with the “all notes off” message. While doing some micro-editing on patterns this weekend, some of my vintage MIDI synths had hanging notes as they don’t recognize the CC123 “all notes off” message.

  Default trig length
Posted by: Oliv Oliv - 03-04-2022, 11:01 AM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (4)

Hi, I was wondering: what is the default trig length of the trigger expander? And is it possible to change the ms of this default trig length?

Thanks!

  Help!!!!!!!
Posted by: Jnaster - 02-25-2022, 05:37 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (4)

So Launchpad has landed and I want to make it my center integration. I have all the midi cables correctly together and I figured it is ready out of the box. No instructions on how to use it. Plugged median correctly everything on the nerd sequencer I think is correct. Yet I’m still not getting anything other than just play works. I’m losing my mind some busy help!!!!

Amend manual re MIDI note numbers
Posted by: mgd - 02-22-2022, 12:21 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (4)

Hi!

I just did some testing regarding which MIDI note number correspondents to which NerdSEQ note as of the display. I have not been able to find that in the manual, so I recorded some MIDI and looked at the data.

What I found is this:
NerdSEQ C-0 is MIDI Note #0 which often is referred to as MIDI Notename C -2 (C,,,). In that notation NerdSEQ C-3 is MIDI Note #36 == MIDI Notename C1 © which is about 65.406 Hz. That's also a common 0V tone for the analog VCOs that I have access to.
NerdSEQ A-5 is MIDI Note #64 == MIDI Notename A3 (a') which is supposed to be 440 Hz. Consequently NerdSEQ C-A is MIDI Note #120 == MIDI Notename C8 (c'''''') which is supposed to be 8372 Hz.

If this information is already in the manual just ignore this post. Otherwise I'd suggest to add that somewhere, preferably in the MIDI section Smile

Kind regards,
Michael

  Affect multiple parameters with "Mark"
Posted by: Momec - 02-17-2022, 08:16 AM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (4)

Would it be possible to implement the ability to affect multiple parameters with the mark feature?

My idea is that you can mark a selection, and then holding shift and tapping the arrow keys will then affect the selection. Up/down could be increment of 1, left/right could be a larger increment.

Say I want to raise several values in the mod column by a certain amount, that would be very fast this way.

Or - transposing notes. It's quite easy going in to the nerd menu to transpose several notes, but it would be even faster this way and visually easier to understand. As it is now, you have to go in to the nerd menu, go to transpose and click it 5 times to transpose 5 semitones, and only when you leave the menu you know if you clicked it the right amount of times.

Also the FX column could benefit from this.

All in all, it would aid the workflow and speed up the path from thought to action.

Cheers!

thoughts on a compact set up?
Posted by: Friend of Dogs - 02-14-2022, 06:00 PM - Forum: Your Setup - Replies (10)

Hello, Im starting to tire from big box set ups and wires.

and I'm looking to design something that is permanently set up, travel-able (battery powered would be very cool, though I don't know how possible), has built in speakers, is very low profile. (My current box sits 5 inches off the ground - not comfortable.)

Thinking in modular grid of a 76hp, 4u (PulpLogic)

Please tell me what you think, criticism is welcome.

Modules are
Nerdseq
Video Expander (mounted in 1u sideways)
The long awaited USB-i2c Expander (mounted in 1u sideways)
ER-301
2HP Pluck
8hp version of Clouds
4hp stereo mixer
(2x) Syinsi 1u speakers

  Logic X Clock/Sync
Posted by: Professor.suspect - 02-12-2022, 08:36 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (6)

Hey! im fiddling around for a while now but im stuck. I want the NerdSeq to be a Midi Slave to my DAW. So when I press record on my Logix that it starts playing. I tried to change some Clock Sync settings and turned on EXT MIDI CLOCK on the NerdSeq. It doesn't respond at all.. Maybe someone has an Idea to strengthen the Logic an NerdSeq Relationship. Thank You!  Huh Heart
