  one question about groove
Posted by: ello - 12-13-2019, 10:36 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (6)

maybe again just some misunderstanding on my side. but, how exactly is the groove setting working? from my understanding i can offset the actual trigger of a step by changing the value of steps groove. however, it seems that if i do so, not only that step, but the whole pattern is affected by that.

how is it used properly? i seem to not understand it

  play step every nth loop?
Posted by: ello - 12-13-2019, 10:10 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (3)

Hello. is there an effect to make a certain step play every nth loop? i know this function from the elektron sequencers where you can tell a step to for example only play every second time.  this enables a lot of variation within a small amount of actual steps.

dunno if this is already there or is this could be a useful feature to be considered?

cheers,
Ello

Question mark / delete not working
Posted by: ello - 12-13-2019, 08:45 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (2)

Hello all.
Today my nerdseq arrived and i started digging into it. Is it correct that i cannot mark or delete patterns in the sequencer screen when the nerdseq is running. Even if the pattern itself is not running? In the pattern section this works. But in the sequencer section the border is not highlited and the function itself doesn't work, too.

Am i doing something wrong?

I am running version 1.20

cheers,
Ello

Couple ideas I'm x'ing my fingers for but ultimately: love every second of this muv
Posted by: Jsigman - 12-13-2019, 05:45 PM - Forum: Feature requests - No Replies

... so I dont NEED nothin, just to thank Thomas for all the EXTRAORDINARY work!! Big Grin

-A way/shortcut to jump to the top row from wherever I am at in the pattern editor...

-Maybe, know this would require alot so yeah, not REQUESTING as much as SUGGESTING? haha... Midi arp functions!

-Glide cv in relation to Mod input where it is routed from another track via FX columns. I think this might be difficult as I'd imagine two seperate rows of FX data might not be "tied to each other" or reference each other but would be pretty cool...

-Polyphonic Chord input in the MIDI editor so you can play 4 note chords on MIDI controller per step input like with the single note but with 4 notes...

finally, this might already be implimented but having a hard time figuring it out.... Loading a brand new blank pattern? I run into issues when I've created alot of patterns already but want to pattern clone and keep everything organized in sequential patterns, so I dont know if the "compact sequencer" delete individual patterns is working like I understand it, like, the patterns are CLEARED but they dont seem to be DELETED as in, appearing as brand new patterns that can be created newly or created as a clone...

(*oh yeah the other last one might be even more audacious/rude to ask for but it is what it is.... um.... More tracks... someday maybe?! Im now using up 5 full tracks as MIDI tracks and even then thinking to myself, what a wonderful world it would be, if I could use even more because I am a greedy fool lol... I think some of this just has to do with the fact that ive been infected with the joy of working using the max power of the muv and now im trying to push the limits... I guess ive made that point already sorry for belaboring it)

(Oh crap last thing, its a question not a request: can someone please give me an example of how a Program Change message would look like in the Fx column? THANX!)

now let me say the words, once again

NO NEED TO RESPOND OR EVEN COMMENT, and if you do please do so at your convenience/after then Holidays, whenever...!!!

I AM HOPING TO MAKE YET ANOTHER ALBUM OVER THE HoLIdAys with this gorgeous tracker warp drive dynamo and am counting my blessings that it even EXISTS in the first place, but .... well the above are just some thoughts/ideas/methodologies I've realized would be super amazing while Ive been working with it.

  Midi input - Sequencer screen
Posted by: Barney Rubble - 12-11-2019, 07:02 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (1)

Hey Thomas,

Can we have manually input midi notes (midi keyboard) displayed on the sequencer screen for CV tracks. I see the red dot showing activity when I input a midi note but not the note value itself.

Also, can midi tracks when the sequencer playing show activity - ie some red dot flashing/blinking for note on/off. I get that notes can't be shown but some indicator on the right hand side of the sequencer screen would be helpful.

cheers

  groove granularity
Posted by: colb - 12-10-2019, 11:43 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (13)

Just got my  new Nerdseq today, and it's great.

After some time getting familiar with it and trying a few things out, I have a question - probably the first of many:

I've been playing with the groove column, and when I set up hi-hats as sixteenths, one per step, I can have them straight - so groove of '6' all the way down, but if I set the groove to 757575... to get some feel, the swing/shuffle is much heavier than I want. I'd want maybe 6.3,5.7,6.3,5.7... So is there a solution, or are there different solutions to this?

Thanks, Colin

  Tuner
Posted by: marek - 12-10-2019, 11:38 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (6)

I ran through this whole section to see if this has not been discussed already. Sorry if I missed it.

I would like to ask if it could be possible to implement some simple tuner function.
For example to set one CV input as the tuner input so I can check and tune my oscillators.
It could be just some temporary menu pop up like nerd menu.
Not sure if it is possible by design.. just asking.

  Hexadecimal change and pattern reset
Posted by: neilmcm - 12-09-2019, 08:22 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (1)

I have looked through the manual but I am obviously missing it , how do you change from the hex numbers to just numbers or is this possible and how do you reset the pattern numbers to zero , I have been messing around making a template and have created patterns but have now deleted them and want to go back to pattern 00 .

*FIXED* Visual bug - Stop track now SPFX 002
Posted by: Barney Rubble - 12-09-2019, 06:16 PM - Forum: Beauty and less important bugs/glitches - Replies (1)

I'm using SPFX 002 in certain patterns to stop other patterns above triggering. In the sequencer screen the last note remains visible. If I use the SPFX 001 stop end of track then the last note value is cleared down from the sequencer screen.

  Nerdseq Midi In - Sync
Posted by: CarmeloP - 12-07-2019, 11:49 AM - Forum: General Questions - No Replies

Hi folks,

Any of you has Midi Sync issue with the Nerdseq as slave since the last update ?
When I set the Nerdseq as Midi Slave with my 909 they aren't in sync.
I've test the 909 with the OB6 as slave and no issue at all.

Thank you.
