[FIXED] Velocity values from Variable A : wierd behaviour

Hello Thomas,
First of all, happy new year
Here is an issue I encountered, I may have found a bug.
I followed your instructions found on this thread : https://forum.xor.eu/showthread.php?tid=...5#pid11215 #67 in order to control the velocity values of a midi pattern with an I2C fader.
I expected the velocity to be 127 when the variable is 4095, and that it would decrease regularly with the variable, down to minimal values.
Here is how it actually behaves :
VAR A = 4095 : Velocity is 127 (as expected)
4059 < VAR A < +-2000 -> no midi note. No output at all.
1680 <VAR A < 1360 : midi notes output again, but the velocity increases when VA decreases (which is very unexpected).
Here is a short video to show you. It was filmed with V2.01A, but I updated to V2.02 before posting this thread and exactly the same problem occurs.
Also, this relationship between velocity and variable A is not random, it's always identical. Same behaviour when using another variable (B).
You hear Nerdseq controlling a bitbox micro in the video, but I also sent midi straigh into my DAW and it's exactly the same problem.
All the best,
Martin

when I enter cbpb 07 03 in row 01 of the FX field at position 16, the sequence jumps to row 03, but when it arrives at field 16 of row 03, it jumps back to row 01 until it jumps again to row 03 instead of continuing to field 64 in row 03. There is an empty row between row 01 and row 03.

Importing .mid files

Hey! Just joined the forum.
I'm thinking of buying Nerdseq this weekend.
One of my main usages would be to play old NES songs by having my own oscillators as the sounds.
So would it be possible to import .mid files out of the box or convert them to a suitable format and then import them?
Here's an example of a .mid file:
https://bitmidi.com/bubble-bobble-main-theme-mid
EDIT: If this isn't possible at the moment, I'm willing to create a script to do this if there's any documentation on how the .ns files work.

[FIXED]Left Cursor not working for DualChord

I've updated to the latest firmware and installed my DualChord and assigned a DualChord type to channel 4. When entering notes the Shift Right cursor it allows me to step up the scale note by note however when I use Shift Left cursor it doesn't step down note by note. I thought it was maybe hardware related but the function works fine in a CV16 track. Am I missing something obvious?

And the beat goes on....
Yet again a big update for the NerdSEQ Firmware which includes the support for the new Dualchord expander and adds many new other features!!
As usual my little 'disclaimer' with some important information before you update:
- make a backup of your SD Card and especially of your projects
- Old Projects can simply be loaded with the new version
- Firmware updates always work, if it doesn't, then you most probably did something wrong. Check the Firmware update FAQ for some infos.
https://forum.xor.eu/showthread.php?tid=4
- No worries, in case of any issues you can always go back to your earlier version (but can't load projects that have been saved with V2.02 without any side-effects)!
Here is the changelog:
Dualchord - added: support for the new Dualchord expander. New tracktype, Mapping destinations, automator destinations, Poly Midi Support etc.... (Pages 65,115,197)
Mapping- added: mapping sources: Track Sequencer Row, Local Buttons, Last played notes for all columns (page 156+)
- added: mapping destinations: Dualchord functions, Edit steps, set sequencer row/cursor, enable scroll Mode, Euclidean startpoint/offset, Livemode (CV Input), SKIP Rows, envelopes, automators and tracks can be defined dynamically by a variable/row (page 164+)
- updated: XMAP FX (from pattern/patch) command with added conditions (check or execute Mapping ROW and play/skip the current pattern row if the result is 0 or not) (page 38)
- added: indicator which shows the live results of possible skipped / disabled mapping rows (page 145)
- fixed: CV16 from mapping note output didn’t work well for NSA channel 2
- fixed: Pitch2Note so a note will snap in within the note range +- half semitone
- added: indicator to separate mapping double values (as in CALC and SKIP) (page 158)
- updated: replaced mapping constant '=9' with a standard threshold value (set in Nerdmenu, saved with project) (page 131)
- added: new Execute Multiple Rows in mapping. One that does execute exclusive (XXMP) and disables the rows for everything else and another that gets only executes (XLOD) once after the project loads (page 164)
- added: mapping setting (in Nerd Menu) to choose if the mappings should be automatically stopped if editing any destinations (page 131)
- updated: Track Euclidean and Note step functions so they work also when not on their tracks/screens
- updated: glide and glide resolution for mapping to the full range
- added: sharp & flat noteview for mappings (page 128)
Launchpad- added: Launchpad for I2C/Multi Drummatrix with all functions as the T16 drummatrix (page 201)
- updated: switch between launchpad drummatrix columns 1-8 / 9-16 (toggle right pad) (page 204)
- updated: Launchpad, if select a step/trigger, then show always the 16 steps of a ‘page’ if possible
- updated: Lauchpad Pro MK3 so it also initializes automatically
I2C/Multi- added: I2C/Multi Drummatrix Destination: Midi Trigger which does generate a Midi Note On+Off (page 113)

MIDI- added: slide functions to Midi (in velocity column defined and random slide velocities) (page 49)
- changed: SHIFT+OK on velocity column changes now between multiple 'types'
Audio - updated: Volume for sample playing is moved to execute after the FX
- added: random range to sample selected sample column (page 42)
- fixed: If BACK FX is using the backwards flag then silence (and probably the other FX) should be ignored. (0100 is now silent and 0200 is unsilent)

Chord voicings/inversions in addition to chord types (major, minor, etc.)

Currently there are FX to add chords with different types (major, minor, etc.) on modular and midi tracks. Chord voicings and inversions are another great way to add variation to music.
This feature for NerdSeq would would make it possible to change the voicing of the chord that was set in the PCRD FX. Maybe it's part of the PCRD FX or maybe its another FX in addition to PCRD.
So for a Major 7th chord the root closed voicing looks like: 1 3 5 7 (for example C4, E4, G4, B4). Then you can make inversions or alternate voicings of this chords.
First inversion: 3 5 7 1 (E4, G4, B4, C5)
Second inversion: 5 7 1 3 (G4, B4, C5, E5)
Third inversion: 7 1 3 5 (B4, C5, E5, G5)
Open voicing: a voicing that features wider gaps between each note, such as 1 5 3 7, or 1 7 3 5, or 1 5 7 3.
Drop 2 voicing: a voicing that's created by starting with a 4-note closed position voicing and then dropping the 2nd highest note from the top down an octave. 5 1 3 7
Drop 3 voicing: dropping the 3rd highest note from top down an octave 3 1 5 7
Essentially just combinatorics of notes in the chord, their octaves, and which track is playing each one.
Arpeggios based on these voicings would also be great. Or maybe there's a strum option, to add a slight delay to each ensuing note of the chord.
For reference check out the Harmonaig module: ![[Image: harmoniag.png]](https://www.instruomodular.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/harmoniag.png)

Cursor position can be set with MIDI CC knob
|

For example, one knob sending x and another sending y, to quickly scroll up and down and dial in notes at specific positions.
Maybe it's as simple as sending a value of 1 moves the cursor to the 1st row, value 32 moves the cursor to the 32nd row.
Or there could be a setting to map input to whatever range the screen has, for example input value 1-127 could be mapped to a pattern length of 64

Where can i find male 12 pin connectors for the midi expanders?

I'd like to make 12 pin extension cords for my midi expander.
a longer version of the standard f/f cable that comes with the midi expander won't suffice as i have my sequencer in a separate case from the midi expander and don't want to remove the modules to connect them before every gig. it needs to be f/m - basically I need the part that the standard cable fits into on the module only as a socket that crimps on to the cable.
I can't seem to find any male 12 pin connectors plugs that will crimp onto the cable online for the life of me. also can't find the cables. it seems most of the stuff is 10, 14 or 16 pin.
does anyone know any european dealers that might have 12 pin stuff as the mouser online store is highly very confusing to me and gives me way too many different things (not exactly sure what to search for) and reichelt and conrad doesn't seem to have them...
